Not all providers need references as all of the ones I have seen have yet asked me for any. Just call anyone of the girls on backpage that doesn't ask for references in their ads. The major difference is; with an escort you already have a lot of time and effort invested in the escort while you can always stop the car and drop off the streetwalker and go make another scoop.

CL is mostly a waste of time: girls who can't get their shit together enough to post an ad on Backpage (requires a credit card) or have the sense to use free sites like this one. A BP escort won't be nearly as much work as you described. Although, at the price point you're talking about, you're still going to find some messes. Keep an eye out for ads from this girl:
