Hey Metlife, it gets better. I found under the account that it will let you change your number free one time so I got a local number. Not only that but you can also turn OFF incoming calls so they can't call you. This is a nice app. Perfect! Everybody here with a smart phone should get it.

I have a burn phone but have never herd of a burner app for a smart phone how does that work?

The App is called Burner Disposable Phone Numbers, available in iTunes store for $1. 99 for the app only. It allows you to acquire or "lease" burner phone numbers, which are temporary, for your use to make calls and texts. Using a temporary burner number lets you remain anonymous because you will be calling or texting from a new number using your iPhone. Your calls will not be anonymous, they will display the new burner phone number that you are using.

The catch is: you have to pay for each burner number that you use and purchase talk and text minutes for that number. You can keep the number for as long as you want, but you have to pay. I don't know the rates, but it's probably easier and cheaper than purchasing disposable phones and minutes. Plus you can use your iPhone to make and receive calls and texts. You can get as many burner numbers as you are willing to pay for.

When you are finished using a number, you "burn" it and the number goes away.

I bought 30 minutes for. 99 so that is reasonable. How did you get another number? When I set it up it assigned one. Can you get a local number through the app itself or do you have to call them or something?

If you want mins to call its only a dollar or two for 90 mins of talk time. This is my ATF. I wasnt too happy with the 1st number they gave me cause it was a Florida number, but I payed a little bit to get a local number to make it seem more real to the providers

Text plus seems to work great for me. You can call and text from the app and if you are married just delete the app when you get home and when you redownload it it will still have previous messages and call logs.

You have to be careful with email too. The can and will track email, just because you have an alias and a free email acct don't think they can't track it back to you.

I do not contact any providers by email, unfortunately I learned the hard way when my ATF got popped. She had emailed me out of the blue trying to set up a time, leo had been watching her and low and behold they called me at home.

If you get contacted at home because of a phone call or email that is harassment even if done by law enforcement. All they are trying to do is to get you to admit to something so they can charge you. If they do this tell them if they call or email you with out a warrent to piss off. Nothing they can do.

Now it would take years of sifting through phone records if someone got curious on my end, however, my fear is it may pop right up if someone gets investigated. I don't even recall the name of the agency then but I don't believe I was familiar with it back then either. Was it under the radar, or high end clientel? And was it the same man / wife team in south Charlotte that got clipped because they didn't pay taxes? It seems so long ago. Anyway, I'm not lying awake at night worrying about it. And I haven't had any "wrong numbers" call my real phone in the middle of dinner. I never heard what exactly happens when a list get "exposed". I know that it is too weak to charge someone with a crime, but the deterant would be making it know that your number was on a list with an agency or indie. I was just curious if someone may have experienced that or knew someone that has.

Geeze. I understand what you are saying, but what does your number on a hoe's phone really prove? I guess they could harass you but they can't prove that you met her or what you did if you did meet her? Maybe you are just into getting a personal lapdance?
