After reading bits and pieces of personal messages after someone's post a week or so ago, I want to be clear about a few things. I believe I have helped or tried to help providers for the most part. I go to the Health Dept for STD testing and it's anonymous. Other STD come back fast, HIV takes 2 weeks, I forgot to add that part.

I need some serious advice from fellow members here. I have recently contracted small red bumps on my legs and butt. The bumps have white heads. I've been doing a lot of reading online and I'm scared I may have herpes II. The bumps do not hurt or itch and are not on my genitals but I'm still very concerned as the symptoms seem to lead me to a bad conclusion. I've had recent activity but it was not from any local providers. I've already had a blood / urine test and am awaiting results but from what I read it takes up to 3 months for the blood test to be accurate. From what I read I probably need to have a culture taken from one of the bumps on my body to know for sure what it is. I'm guessing the best place to do this would be a dermatologist. As I have a family I would prefer to do this anonymously. It's easy to have a blood test anonymously but a visit to a doctor or dermatologist will require name / address even if I don't use insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about getting a culture like this anonymously?

You need to have the lesions examined, and the cause identified. You don't need to freak out ahead of time, self-diagnose, or roll the dice with blood and urine samples trying to stay anonymous. Get to a doctor and have the symptom examined while it's active. Are you planning to just hope you get a negative report, so you can forget all about it? Nah. Go to a doctor. Who might find the cause, and put your mind to rest, in two minutes.

Two things: HSV II is generally transferred from male to female, not the other way around. Not always, but those odds are in your favor, as is the fact that it's usually transferred by contact with open lesions (though again, not always). Second, assuming "I have a family" is code for "I don't want my wife to know", if you've got herpes you have to control it, and protect her. She's going to know sometime; it'll be worse if she finds out from her doctor. HSV often has no symptoms; you don't have to admit to her that you caught it recently. It could be that it's something you carried around for years before the symptoms became acute. But you have to identify the problem, not wish it away with blood tests-those are a part of a regular health regimen if you're having unprotected sex of any sort, not emergency care procedures-and you have to tell her if you have something infectious.

It could be any number of things, and most of those you'd want a doctor diagnosing and explaining to you. So go to one.

Dude, wait until your get your blood / urine result back, before you start to panic and start spending money on what you think it is. Technology has advance and they're a lot more accurate if they sent them to a lab. When you get your result back you will get a percentage on how accurate the test was. I'm not sure if you went to the doctor, but if not you should go. Searching for symptoms on google is not the best way to diagnose yourself, so leave it to the professional and get yourself checked out man. You can do yourself alot more harm then go, if you depend on google for symptoms. It could be a spider bite for all you know, I'm just saying.
