Please allow me to extend my deepest condolences to both you and the family of Gwen. Be assured Gwen was a very well liked individual by many of us and will be sorely missed.

Posts: 1I hope your moderator will allow this posting. I have read the forum rules, which among other things state: "By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws." So I will simply state some facts and leave it at that. Everyone here deserves the right to free speech.
I am like you. I enjoy women, nudity and sex. I am from a dysfunctional family, and my sister and I have never known a father and mother who lovingly cared for us. I have seen and experienced worse street violence than anything I see in these pages.
I am well aware of what my sister did over these many past years and why. To say I loved her and cared for her is stretching the truth. To say I'm any better than she was is stretching the truth. There is honor among thieves, however, and honor among family members. It is that honor I address in the midst of a very difficult month for us. Here is what I consider honorable:
• Respecting a person's privacy.
• Letting fellow human beings pursue their interests if they do not harm others.
• Being aware of how one's actions can affect others now and in the future.
Frankly, I think patronizing prostitutes is perfectly honorable. So is soliciting for prostitution. So is telling others where to find prostitutes. But it is despicable, in my view, to "out" people engaged in these activities, whether they are lawful or not. It's called "ratting out" by some. Ratting out a murderer is one thing. Ratting out a person involved in a victimless crime is quite another.
I think almost all contributors to this guide are not ratting out. They have their fun and move on. I think I would get along with most of you and would enjoy your company. I think you'll understand, however, that I have no use for anyone here who has gone beyond mere enjoyment and outed my sister. I have seen presentations on her in these pages that cross way over the line. She prostituted herself: fine. She posed for pictures: fine. But someone took many, many unnecessary compromising pictures of her. I know she desperately needed the money and did not think about or care about what would be done with those pictures. It is one thing to enjoy those pictures at home. It is another to put so many of them up on the internet as a memorial to her wayward life and as a way to defile her and put her on exhibit. Her life was tough; why make it tougher. She never would have lived it down if she had kids and they came across the pictures. Not to mention a future employer. Nor a family with responsibility to dispose of her remains.
It is now a mission of mine to correct this dishonor to my sister.

Posts: 26geez, things have changed in philly in the last 15-20 years. i got pulled over with a lady in the mid90s and the cop just gave me the scared straight talk. he took the lady off to the roundhouse, but let me go. soon after that i moved out of state. even worse, in 1986, i got caught soliciting an undercover cop after an office happy hour and the car cops gave me a talking to and a $150 fine and dropped me off at my dorm at drexel. even though, i was **** and noticeably drunk, that's all that happenned.

anyway, good luck zaphod. hope it all works out for you.

NO! No! No! No! You'd be in a world of shit. (I hope you were joking.)
Who are you going to say this too; the beat cop. Did you forget this was a sting? Is that what you said to the female cop that you solicited outside of your car?

You've just lied to a Police Officer and given him evident. They are not going to take your word. The DA is going to check it out and if you lied – watch out. If you are telling the truth and you do work for such an agency the DA could threaten an investigation into it's operation. Your boss isn't going to like that. Any agency doing that kind of work would inform LE of their operation and make the authorities aware of their being in the area. Once you are caught in a lie your lawyer cannot help you. Cops are not dumb. They can always investigate and if you're legit; let you go. No harm done. If you are lying – your ass is grass.
The cops on the avenue do this type of thing as a matter of routine. They do it every day; they've been doing it for years – they are trained. It is part of their job to catch you in a lie. On the other hand, how much practice have you had at this? I am assuming it's not something you do every day.
You have the right to remain silent. Do so! You have the right to have an attorney. Get one! If you think you can bet the charge. The only way to bet the system is to use the system.

Posts: 82Thanks for the heads up. If we could only not think with the little guy. Being an extremely lucky happily married man, I really need to rethink my habit. Losing everything over a hummer just ain't worth it. Anyone ever get the same treatment at an AMP.

Zaphod. That sounds AWFUL! A summons book is one thing, but guns drawn is a whole different story! You seriously have my sympathies, as I'm sure applies to the other guys on here. But thank you for sharing, as a reminder to us all to be careful. Take my word for it. Anyone who pokes her head in my window and asks what I'm shopping for will be asked directions to one remote corner of the city or another. Using my best possible gay imitation!
We all know that middle-aged guys patronizing down-on-their-luck young ladies is a major threat to the safety and security of our fine city, don't we? We don't need to worry about official corruption, gang violence, armed robberies, murders, or even the very drug trade that has put these girls on those street corners. Those are of no concern to the local gendarmerie as long as they can meet some unmentionable quota of snared horny taxpayers. Job well done, folks.

Thanks for having the courage to deal with this in the open-I think we all need a reality check when it comes to mongering. I am truly sorry that yours was so harsh, and I sincerely wish you the best in resolving this and moving forward.

Let me tell you something about how Vice operates, once you have put your foot in your mouth and said the wrong thing the backup officers roll up on you from out of no where and within 10 seconds I had guns drawn on me and was told to get out of the vehicle and not touch anything, under those circumstances your options are fairly limited to doing what they tell you to do. There was no negotiating, no "wait wait this is a mistake" I was cuffed an stuffed in the back of truck withing 45 seconds of it all.

I thank you for all your support, and again my real reason for posting this is just hopefully help you guys not make the same mistake, some of you may be married, and I was with a few guys in the van who were and once they got released they had even bigger issues to deal with at home. One Guy even said he wasn't going home, he was in wayyy too much trouble.
I got complacent thinking I could just do this forever with no problems other than the occasional bad date, but there are real issues to this. Everyone has to decide what's best for them, I'm not here to tell you guys your business, just to spread the word to be careful.

Z- sorry about your experience! Yeah, all of us learn the hard way in this hobby, but it is sad that yours has those kind of consequences. One can get over a bad date or getting ripped off. But an adventure with LE. I feel for you man!

Sorry about your predicament. Go find a good criminal attorney and see if one can at least get the charges reduced to something innocuous like loitering. I suspect it'll all depend on what kinda hard-on the ADA has for you or those kinda crimes.
Good luck!

What was that, officer? Soliciting prostitution? NEVER! I wouldn't do anything of the sort. I'm trying to recruit these young ladies to work for my housekeeping service. Officer, you may have job security, but don't you realize there's an unemployment crisis in this city? I represent the Second Chance Mission (produce business card) , and it's our project to find gainful employment in domestic services for those who need it. Which clearly applies to these young ladies, since they're reduced to wandering the streets seeking opportunities in the harsh economic environment created by the politicians who couldn't care less.
In fact, while you're here, would you care to make a monetary donation to help us advance our cause?

Posts: 218Thank Cooky, this kicker of it all is, she wasn't. I had already passed through the K, didn't see anyone worth the effort, was on my way to where I stay in the NE and saw these 2 average OK looking 30 something ladies. Being horned up and 2 lazy to go back to K I just figured I see what I could do here, and BLAM it was all over. Being Sloppy is my biggest crime.

Nobody expects every poster to be as great a writer as SuperEloquent (and you) , or to take as many pictures as I do. Like you, I find it very discomforting when I note the number of contributors. It is even more disheartening to read that members are dating but not posting information.
If only everyone did their part, as best as they can, and not worry about what others are doing or not doing, this board would be one hell of a resource.
