Posts: 99Too good to be true? Probably.
I spotted this one yesterday and texted with her at 617-420-2317. As you can imagine, I'm VERY skeptical that she's actually the girl in the photos. Has anyone had an experience with her that would confirm or prove otherwise? Heck, even if she's only half as attractive as the girl in the pics she'd be worth seeing! Yesterday she was hosting in Woburn and asking 180. I ended up not having enough time to get there, so I went somewhere else more local.

Posts: 45Mandala / The Real Deal
The deal at Mandela is that they screen you and then put your name into their database. Before computers they had all of your information written on a 3' x 5' Index Card. This information was rather detailed. Your Masseuse's name, the date that you visited, your personal hygiene, your tipping habits, what type of service your prefer such as a HE, Topless, Fully Nude etc, Of course, If you did FS that was between you and your Masseuse. Although I never experienced FS at Mandela it has been mentioned here and at the other defunct site. How do I know all of this? I used to see an 'Independent Provider' in the Newton area who worked at Mandela for several years. She was a rather disgruntled former employee who was very open and honest about the inner dealings at this establishment.
On another note, I must say that I am impressed that Mandela has been in business all of these years.

I've been there twice. First time, cute young blonde (maybe Jen or something like that). Asked politely after the flip about the area I wanted massage, and she made some lame excuse about "oh there's not enough time left." What? So you're admitting you do it, but don't want to take my money right now?

I know some here are long time Mandala customers, but it's just not worth my time / effort to go and figure out the secret handshake. And the desk lady can be a bit off-putting / annoying IMHO.
YMMV of course, but it's just not for me.

Posts: 1701I've had good luck at Simple Pleasures, however I have seen mixed reviews. I always get a line up without asking which is nice. The only problem I've had there is upselling, negotiating. I've always received the full hour.

A few days back I posted a list for newbies. Some mongers took exception with a couple of steps, namely 3 & 4. That's your right it's a free country. What I meant is if the lady leans over close where your arm is in range of her ass or her leg, go for it! I don't mean in a grab ass (pun intended) type of way, but more of a gentle or accidental touching. If she moves away the first time then you are in a legit place and nothing is going to happen. If she stays there, try it again, maybe a little longer and gauge her response. If she let's you linger for a bit then moves on be patient, because you may feel that nice finger-tip massage up your legs and on your balls later in the massage with no words spoken until the flip.
If you do nothing, you may not get anything. A while back I went to a place that had been reviewed here. I was a nervous newbie. I did not do anything, kept my hands to myself and basically got nothing.
It's a fine line, I admit that. You can't be to aggressive. I don't know how many of you here remember the old Royal Sauna at Alewife and the Fresh Pond Rotary in Cambridge. On one of my early visits. 2nd or 3rd time (I did not go there very much at first) , I drew a girl by the name of Pam. A hot brunette, in black leotards, stockings and heels. I was too aggressive in grabbing her ass before we got into the room. Well, once in the room I got scolded, no clothes came off and I had to plead for a HJ. A went there a few more times and learned the routine, newbies went into the rooms right near the entrance next to the lounge. More trusted ones were taken to the back behind the hidden door next to the shower stalls.
Old English in Cambridge was similar. After a couple of visits they were sneakier there. For the records the wanted you to use something close to your real first name and they did not want you to bring your wallet into the massage room. The only thing that you took in was yourself, the masseuse, locker key on wrist loop and the towel / wrap they had you wear. Each massage room had a window. This worked two ways: If a newbie, and they were not sure, they could say there was no privacy and the manager would walk by and check in through the window. However, I learned that the real reason why was to let the masseuse know that everything was okay, that your I'd checked out and you had sufficient funds. The system worked like this: You walked in went down the stairs to a receptionist, you gave your name and paid door fee. The receptionist. She wrote your first name and your key / locker number on the form and handed you the key. You went and changed and put everything in your locker and left your wallet with money in it easily accessible. You then went back to a lounge and selected your masseuse by handing her the form, she went and got the room ready and handed the form to receptionist or another old lady who worked keeping the clean and doing the laundry. Once you were back in the room when no-one was near they would check your locker, make sure your name was close and you were not LEO. They also checked your wallet to see how much money you had. They would then walk back to the room where you were getting the legit part of your massage and look through the window and signal your masseuse as to your legitimacy and amount of money. It was then off to the races.
I have to admit, I miss the Royal, and Old English. Something about seeing young women in leotards or bathing suits waiting to massage you was really great.

Mandala in newton is non-asian. I've heard mixed reviews, tried it and only got legit. But it was my first time so that may be why.

Many years ago before when there were not so many options. Went to a place in haverhill. Near the end of the massage I asked if she could massage down there. She took quite offense and began to berate me and left the room. I left a tip for her and left. Later she called to apologize.
I would agree with some of the other postings that you can usually tell from the ads and where they may be posted. Altho some try to trick you into more being available and then you end up just a legit massage.

I have to agree with Energizer completely. If one finds themselves in the company of a genuine LMT, I. E, has a license and appears in all other respects, whether skilled or not, to be providing a therapeutic service, testing the waters so to speak with tips #3 and #4 will most likely be taken as rude, crude and / or disrespectful. And, should be avoided. I have found that simply interjecting into our a conversation a question like,"Do you ever have trouble with men expecting "more than a massage?" (spoken very matter of fact-ly) will give you everything you need to know about the woman who has her hands on your naked body and what is / is not acceptable without insulting her.
Some time ago I was a regular customer of a genuine LMT. We discussed the issues and problems she faced (she was pretty hot looking) with men that groped her or downright expected or even demanded more during a session. She was distressed by how frequently this happened despite her professional habits of keeping you covered and offering a thoroughly professional service. Although I have no evidence to support my supposition, I think her frustration with the constant unwanted attention and advances she received from men was a factor in her eventual suicide. Truly sad. Not every woman is emotionally equipped to handle inappropriate advances.
Be nice AND, be safe.

There are still at least 2 non-asian massage parlors operating in MA, reported on in this thread and / or in the Brockton thread.

Posts: 1743I don't live in the Boston area, but reading the recent notes in this thread, it appears there are no non-Asian spas left, not counting the one-girl operations. It's ironic that this thread is titled. "Non-Asian Massage Parlor Reports". Oh well.

Numbers 3 & 4 should be avoided, as a 1st move. If it is a legit CMT, the least that could happen is the session will abruptly end. As to #4, it could earn you an assault charge.

I think in most cases, we should be able to tell the difference between a masseuse whom is providing a strictly therapeutic massage and one whom is providing extra service. In my {not so} humble opinion, a masseuse that is providing extras will give a sign that more is available. This may be spending an inordinate amount of time on your buttocks, or she may even lightly brush a sensitive part. For me, a part of the fun was wondering what the tip-off might be. Maybe she'll even run her fingers up the crack of your butt; no one offering a strictly therapeutic massage would do that.
Some years ago I visited with a woman in the Acton area. She had a hot tub available, and no she did not join you. During the massage she brushed my testicles and quickly apologized. I just said she needn't apologize and it felt good. That was all that was needed.
Some years ago there was a place just off of Porter Sq. In Cambridge. I was only there once, as it was in a residential neighborhood and it didn't take long before they got busted. In fact, as I walked up the street, I even thought to myself, this place won't last long. I got a great massage and when it was over, or in this case, nearly over, the masseuse asked me if there were any body parts that she had not yet massaged. Being a bit insecure, I hesitated for a moment, then gently took her hand and slowly moved it over to what I needed massaged. By slowly moving it, she could have pulled away at anytime, but did not.
I visited one place in Davis Sq. For a "hot rock" massage and she put the warmed stone on my stones. It felt incredible and that was a sure sign.
As to telling the difference beforehand, look at where the ad is placed; if it's in Boston Magazine, maybe or maybe not. I lean towards the maybe not, but if it's in the Boston Phoenix, then probably extra services are available. At certain points in my life, money has been tight. On occasion I have gone to a legit (I tend to not like to use that word, as the opposite is illegitimate) place, but I've rarely left disappointed even without getting extras, as I still got a great massage.
So to sum it all up, you should have a good indication before you walk in the door. Like the list suggests, be freshly showered, a gentleman and respectful. Let the provider make the first move and never touch her until she does.

I have been a forced hiatus due to finances and family circumstances. If money is tight for you experimentation is even tougher.
I have learned from past ecperiences to not fish where I won't get a good catch.
Go to a CMT if you seek a good massage.
That list of tips is good and I have used some of those techniques. Mostly in setting of "therapeutic AMP" settings. I ve gotten DIYs sometimes more but I couldn't imagine getting DIY's in most other therapeutic settings.
I have talked to legit licensed CMT's in the past. My sister had a good friend who was a CMT. She was also a trainer.
She was athletic and attractive too. I got a legit massage from her once.
But in the context of friendly chat with sis and her freinds about our jobs and we were asking her about her "hotness" and being a masseuse, how dealt with her male clients.
She also said the lure of "extra money " wasn't even a consideration to her or her other CMT friends.
Professional legit CMT's are not phased by a guy if he gets a woody or pitches a tent during a session. Experienced CMT's are aware that certain therapeutic "zones" can trigger erections and are not phased by it during a session if her male client respects her personal space and boundaries, plus she doesn't want him to feel embarrassed. Also she is still hoping for a nice "gratuity" still and repeat clientele.
I pitched a woody during a legit massage and I even told my masseuse I felt embarrassed and apologized. She told me I was far from the 1st guy that experienced that and not to sweat it. I even went back for follow up treatments because she was very professional about my reaction.
A legit CMT will terminate the session ASAP if any boundaries are challenged or threatened. Leaving you short on a massage and your money.
Cheers
