I'm very happy to report that Holly is alive, living far from the Avenue, and back among her friends and family. As Zaphod reported, she took a major hit health-wise, but she is now over 140 days drug-free!

To me this is the best possible news. I was quite upset when I heard she had possibly met her demise. Despite all the challenges she encountered along the K, for three excruciating years, Holly always had a bright smile, a quick with, and was a terrific companion. I will miss her.

Join me in wishing Holly the best as she turns her life around.

That is great news, Duke. Thanks for tracking this down. I too was very sad to hear she had died, but as Zaphod II said the story sounded completely plausible. When a long-time SW goes MIA you rarely find out what happened. You're right this is the best possible news. As good as Holly was, I hope we never see her back on the stroll. Definitely one to root for.

Spoke to one of the girls today that seems to know what's going on with everything on the street. I haven't seen Holly in many months and see neither has anyone else it seems from a search for the past few months on here. Much to my dismay I was inform today that she passed away about 2 months ago of endocarditis. Has anyone else heard this because I have heard stuff like this before and it turned out to be wrong.

However she was not looking well last time I saw her, and she had spoken of being in the hospital a few times, so It's very plausible.

Interesting. This was Saturday night, right? I had an all nighter scheduled with her. Even talked to her that afternoon to confirm. She had to go to a party with her dad and was going to call me after she was done at about 9 pm. Seemed excited about our date. She did not call and now will not respond to my calls or texts. So somewhere along the way, she decided she would rather walk the ave than to date me. I always treat girls the way my mom taught me and even my worst dates want me to call them again so I find this very perplexing.

I saw Jess tonight right outside the park by tioga, she's looking tired. I've dated her before but was killed by LE in a van witg some fucking dike cop who talked to get for 5 mins and then She moved somewhere else.

I recently fetched her from the same corner (as in the recent photo) at about 4pm. This was my first time with her. She appeared quite friendly and cheerful and then asked if we could make a detour to drop off a handbag she was carrying around the corner at Frankford & Church. She got out with the bag, asked for $20 to reimburse someone and asked that I not "run off" on her. She returned within 5 mins and off we went. On our way, in "a moment of truth", she declared to me that she needed "to smoke". Thinking that meant she needed cigarettes, I offered to buy her some for which she was grateful. Shortly after she suddenly crouches down in front of her seat, takes out a pipe and starts "smoking". I suggested that this was disrespectful and she apologizes and sits back in her seat. I mention that she has a good reputation and that it would be a pity to spoil that. Now I'm not naive about these chicks and their habits but this was my first time with her and I guess I just couldn't quite control my paternalistic instincts to lecture her a bit, albeit quite gently. She went on to rationalize her habit as one might expect any addict to do, in her case citing her mother's recent death as well as the stress from dealing with her pimp (my choice of words) when she was living with Aundrea & co back on Princeton last year. The whole 15 min ride to the telly she never stopped talking about how she began to use, how it was the pimp's fault, not hers; how she now had it under control; and how it helped her deal with the sadness of losing her mother. I punctuated her steady flow of words with the repeated refrain that she was responsible for her habit, no one else, that she would ultimately be responsible for dealing with her addiction, and that no one could help her but herself.

Her service was perfunctory at best, I'll leave it at that. At one point she said she had to get back soon "to meet a regular", which I did my best to ignore, and asked if she might not be interested in making a "regular" out of me. The whole way back she was silent except to ask "how much longer?" about every minute, alternating with rather frantic phone calls ("yo I just told you Ima be there in 5 mins" and "yo where you at?" and "yo watchu got for me?") to and from someone who could have only been her "pharmacist". All in all quite a disappointing experience which I doubt I'd repeat although YMMV, indeed.

I know Jessica. Also goes by Jay or Just plain Jess. Dave you are right she is a total sweetheart. She is a great person to be with. She is easy going. Easy to talk to. And always I mean always hungry. The streets are sometimes meaner to some than others. She is the type you don't mind getting something for her to eat. She is honest, trustworthy. Doesn't require much to make her happy. I haven't seen her in about two weeks. When I do I always pull over and say hello to her make sure she has a cigarette. The last time I did see her she told me she is now working for a pimp but didn't name him.
