RALEIGH. Raleigh police officer Jason Brandon Hoyle was arrested today by Fayetteville police for soliciting sex from a teenager, a week after Fayetteville police investigated a larceny in which the Raleigh Police Department and Hoyle are listed as victims.

The theft of a laptop, phone and cash initiated the investigation into Hoyle's activities, according to Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Gavin MacRoberts.

Hoyle. 34, was charged with promoting prostitution of a minor and participation of a minor. He was released on $100, 000 bond.

Txxxxx Mxxxxx Bradxxxx. 17, also was arrested. She was charged with misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution and released on a written promise to appear in court.

According to the police report, Hoyle had $800 in cash, an Apple iPhone 4 and Dell D630 laptop in his possession around 10 pm on Feb. 7 at 1925 Cedar Creek Road, Apt 109, in Fayetteville. The items were reported stolen the next morning at 7:24 am.

The Raleigh Police Department was listed as the victim in the laptop theft. Spokesman Jim Sughrue said today that the laptop has been returned to the department, and that no breach of security is believed to have occurred.

Sughrue said an internal investigation into Hoyle's involvement is under way. Hoyle, who currently works in the detective division, has worked for the department since October 2000.
