Thanks to both of you for your perspective. I totally understand the rationale for playing this game versus the BP option. I'm probably at best going to be able to keep around 1000 per month from the warden. Hopefully, that will be enough to keep someone interested. Probably not of the caliber you 2 have reached, but at least a step up from BP. I'll keep you all posted on what I find.

My standard sugar amount is $300 per "meet", but I make it clear from the start that my work schedule does not allow a consistent, weekly scheduled meeting. This, I feel, does two things; one, it allows me to keep several babies in play simultaneously if I choose, and two, it puts the impetus on the baby to make things happen if she wants some sugar. That said, I am able to get all the action I can handle for around $1200 to $1500 / month, on average, not including incidentals like hotel, meals, little gifts etc.

I also suggest to the baby that the sugar need not always be bennies. I have bought groceries, outfits, ipods, boots (God, they can be expensive! Who knew?) , purses (ditto) and the like. In my mind, this keeps it less like a p4p situation, and more like a real dating relationship, for both me and the baby.

This may seem like a lot, but apparently in the Chicago area a cursory massage with HJ at the end that lasts 45 minutes from start to finish runs $180 on average, and this from an ancient Chinese woman with a mustache who you are thankful keeps her clothes on. For twice that, you can spend 3 to 4 hours with a hot naked college baby, banging away until your butt cramps. Which would you prefer?

I'll jump in here with my $.02. A quality girl who is way above the BP desperada is going to run you $ 1000 to 3000 / month, with $1000 being the minimum amount to play the game at least once / week. This is your basic real life girl who just wants a little extra in life and is not desperately poor.

Look at it this way. A monthly budget amount for a real SB : 1) Average escort rates . $250 / encounter. 2) a decent hotel room $ 100, dinner and drinks $100, gifts and treats $ 100, travel budget $ (don't even go there) ====$550 / meet, or $2200 / month for once / week. For a regular gig you can negotiate a monthly fee probably lower than that, and you can stay in cheaper hotels, shop for dinner at Walmart, and skip the flowers and candy each time, but this is pretty close for a non- hooker, independant upwardly mobile HYCB

I am not a senior member, just a novice like you. But one of the important things I have learned from the forum is to establish the amount of sugar you need for the recipe and stick with it. You can make minor adjustments up and down based on "hottness" factor. But in the end you are going to have to live with the initial sugar you provide the SB. If the SB is happy with the sugar, wants more and you are interested you can always increase the frequency of the visits or provide other benefits. Another interesting point others have made is that using more sugar in the recipe does not always make the dish sweeter. You can use various sites to set up 3. 5 star FC'sat1. 3 star rates.

Like in Vegas I would not step up to table with a minimum bet I could not afford. But this is not Vegas. You set the minimum. Members of the forum have advised not to overly concern myself with the sugar. Focus on getting the SB into the FC. I think it is good advice.

I know about what I spend on the hobby each year in rough numbers, and I don't mind spending the cash on a nice young lady when I know I can afford it. But I'm not sure I can afford to play the SD game at the level that I can catch, or even initially hook that HYB that is swimming in the SD4M or SA waters. I'm sure willing to try, but I'm sure that some reading this forum are reluctant to get in the game if they don't know for sure if they have the means to play it in earnest.

It's not that I have any doubt that it's worth the extra money. You and others have convinced me that it's the way to go. I'm tired of the usual BP girl that has lost enthusiasm and just goes through the motions. I spend a lot of time looking for that diamond in the rough that even comes close to the HYBs described on this forum. But I really don't know how much extra it would take to step it up a couple of notches and pursue the SB game. I realize there are minor site fees to join SA, and it sounds like most, if not all, SB dates involve a somewhat nice hotel expense. And the guidance in these postings indicate that the SB should be happy with mid-level escort rates. I can figure all of that out from the forum posts. But what is the average amount that one needs to budget monthly, considering all expenses, to get a HYB hooked and keep her interested? Can one play this game successfully at the $500 / mth level? $1000 / mth level?

Again, don't mind spending the $$ if I have them to spend, but why take the trip to Vegas if you can't play the tables?

Just curious, if any of you SMs on this forum wouldn't mind discussing this, how much does one need to budget to successfully play this game. If I can't budget at least the minimum amount, I'll be spinning my wheels with little to no success and need to stay in the BP world.

I would urge you to get off CL and BP, and sign up with one of the more focused sites. I promise you will find a much higher level of baby on either of these. It will take more time, more effort, and more thought, but the rewards are outstanding. Don't neglect your current SB if she is doing it for you, so to speak, but in my opinion CL is baitcasting, while SA or SD4me is fly fishing. More difficult, more expensive, but so much finer.

Still a novice at this game and have only been pursuing the SBs through CL and other sources so far. I plan to join either SB4Me or SA within the next few weeks to start the new year out right. Meanwhile, I have a 3rd meeting with by current SB tonight and am really looking forward to seeing her. It's been several weeks and she is having trouble with the rent, so there is plenty of incentive for the both of us. She is the same 30 yo that I have been in contact with since Nov. She really seems to enjoy our sessions and we both leave the FC plenty drained. I'll report on my future activities after joining a regular site. I am apparently not the sharpest pencil in the box, but when someone presents a good idea, I know enough to recognize it. I recently received a pm from a brother on this thread sharing some leads for a town that I am heading to at the end of next month. This is a pool I have fished before, unsuccessfully, but I have developed a few contacts of my own for the upcoming visit that hopefully will prove beddable.

In chasing his leads to ground on the SA site, I noticed some were not from my target town. A quick Google map revealed several smaller near-by towns, which produced additional potential babies. Duh! When I'm fishing, I don't thrash away at only one pool. I check up and down the stream for other likely holding spots. The same holds true apparently for On The Road babies.

Forgive me if this is second nature to all the rest of you, but honestly I had never thought of doing it this way before. I now have a half-dozen or more potential OTR babies to contact when the date draws nearer.
