Not an Atty but I do have a fair amount of legal dealings on a regular basis, for a non-Atty. Lets just say that my brain is hard wired toward all things legal.

Let me play Devil's Advocate here and outline some issues:

Putting someone on your payroll. They become a legal employee. Workers comp. Fed'l and State Unemployment, potential of a sexual harrassment suit. And on and on. Sound like a deal so far?

How do you defend that you were plunking one of the staff? What is her job description? What about other employees that see someone getting paid and promoted and never shows for work, and all she does is service the boss and gets a check. You see the potential problems.

So go ahead and pay her a set amount each week, and go ahead and bonus yourself the gross of that amount of funds, for a net that you will pay miss sb. You will be making a much better decision in doing so. Yes, it will cost you some taxes but at least this way you pretty much know your downside. As the old saying goes. Never get your Pu$$why and you paycheck at the same address. And you will want to keep those two separate in your case Nando.

I wanted to thank everyone for their input. Just to clarify a few things, she set the amount. She actually indicated she was willing to haggle a little, but A) I did not want to come off as cheap (I am supposed to be a sugar daddy after all) and B) I was concerned that negotiating would diminish the service and lastly C) I did not want it to be all about the money.
