I believe that most of the prosecution tends to involve streetwalkers and massage parlors. So I would say, ask yourself if *you* would want a massage parlor or streetwalker trade near where *you* live? I suspect that while thinking about your answer to this question it will go a long way toward also answering the questions that you pose above.

My advice is that people should try to be reasonable. While you may have perfectly valid reasons to want to monger, your actions may have negative impacts on others, and those others may not like it. Try to keep in mind the impact that your actions have on others and at least you will be a more reasonable monger.

I live right by a massage parlor and it doesn't bother me one bit. I doubt if anyone else even notices; they're probably pleased that it isn't ANOTHER empty storefront. There's no gaudy signage or traffic congestion; it's doesn't disrupt the neighborhood at all.

There are some SW who work nearby as well. They are low key for the most part. It's not a known stroll, so there aren't a lot of mongers running around. (Traffic is so bad anyway, I don't think anyone could tell the difference.) As long as they don't walk around in minis and high heels and walk around in traffic and draw attention to themselves, it's not that big of a deal. I admit, it kind of bothered me at first, but now I don't even think about it.

As a matter of fact, years ago I lived in a place where prostitution was legal and there was a low-key massage parlor up the street from where I lived. Did it bother anyone? No more than the doctor's office on the same block.

Also, since it was legal, there weren't any streetwalker strolls. There was a red light district you could go to and there were scattered bars where "working girls" were known to habituate.

Regardless of the morality of it, decriminalizing prostitution would dramatically reduce the visible negative aspects of the business and it would improve the lives of sex workers.

In a 'free' country where people are on the news everyday talking about civil liberty, in a city that votes blue in every election, there exists a law that criminalizes interaction between two consenting adults.

What is the end goal? That one day prostitution will not exist? First, it is impossible. There is a reason that prostitution is the oldest profession. Because it has been around forever and will continue to be around forever.

Second, what is the friggin point? Let's say one day Chicagoans can not get a massage in the city. Is there ANYONE who's life would benefit from that? All the 'would-be' massage parlor employees would shrug their shoulders, find a nice $8 an hour job to support themselves and their two kids, and go to school at night to obtain their Ph. D? Is that what would happen?

I would say this: if guy Y agrees to pick up the check in exchange for sex with girl X, then that would be prostitution. Of course, proving it is another thing altogether because even if guy Y and girl X had an "understanding", LE does not have mind-reading technology, so proving the case would effectively be impossible. I mean, people break laws all the time; but if there is no way for LE to catch them, then there is no way to enforce the law.

That's exactly what happened: I felt uptight and tense going into the last 3 AMP's I visited. I could've had HE at Alice's but foolishly passed because I wanted to try other places that same day. Needless to say it didn't happen at the other 2 spots, so I was kicking myself later on. But that day was a lesson for me, and I'll know what to do next time I frequent an AMP.

No, I am not LEO. I'm just your average working-class guy who operates a train for a living. I just started off with this hobby two months ago, so I expected to have a few bumps along the way. But you do raise a good point. Maybe I have been too passive with my approach because I've always tried to treat ladies with respect. Tried out Eastern the other day. An older lady at reception with a banging younger girl. Stopped at Halsted Spa. Paid. 6 at the door for a 1 hour with table shower. My girl was the owner I believe. Tall, thin, maybe late thirties. Really nice body. Table shower and massage were very thorough. Left the standard tip and walked out satisfied.
