Awhile back, long before I started posting here, I made an attempt at going the escort route. I tested the water by calling a few high level girls. It has been a long time, but as I remember it, most of the quotes were around $300 to $500, with no extras include. I am talking about average looking girls. Most of the porn stars wanted $500 for a half hour and $800 to $1000 for an hour. Mind you, we are still talking about straight sex and no extras. That was a huge problem for me. It was not about, "the means," I spend $300 to $500 a week easily, when you consider all of my expenses. My problem was with the extras offered.

BBBJ's were extra. Half and Half, extra. Greek extra. DK, extra. Around the world, extra. And! Here's the deal breaker. No pictures. Not one of the girls I called would allow pictures.

Things have changed a little. Not enough for me. I want lots of extras; especially pictures. I want my girl to accommodate all of my needs. Most of the girls who work for agencies still do not want their pictures taken. And, regardless of what anyone says, if you get a girl from an agency or at an AMP you are not in charge – the agency (pimp) or mama son is calling the shots – you are at their mercy.

It has nothing to do with means; it is a matter of preference. With streetwalkers I don't have to worry about "Bait & Switch," the girl not showing up, waiting in the parking lot for the girl to call back (sometimes they never call) , up selling, or any of the many other things that go wrong when arranging an escort date. And, IMHO, AMPs can be just as bad. I rarely hear of an AMP with a selection that numbers anywhere near what on Kensington Avenue. When you think about it, driving up and down the "K," on a nice day is like window shopping.

The internet has changed everything. The prices have come down. At $70, $80 or $100 you can get a Backpage girl for ½ hour or an hour. And, for $20, $30 or $50 you can get the same girl on the street. Not only that. Now; with the internet we can review the girls, weed out some of the bad ones, expose the bait and switches and point out what's good and what's not. But, in the end it still comes down to preference. I do what I do because I like doing it.

I almost complained that the post just stated the obvious and was patronizing. I've always viewed picking up sws as the ground level for paying for sex and sort of the training grounds for picking up the basic skills. Unfortunately, it's probably the most dangerous when things go wrong. Newbies should take heed to that post. It was dead on accurate and IMHO very well said. Not judgemental, the man was simply stating the facts. There are tremendous risks trolling the ave, and I think alot of newbies have absloutley no idea how high those rise are. Seasoned mongers know these risks and they choose to take them. However with the internet I fear alot of green, clueless newbies are tempted to try this sport without knowing the true dangers involved.

With all due respect. This post is ludicrous. I don`t know of anyone who wants to live in a neighborhood crawling with working girls and the men who patronize them.

Longdeluxe, I am sure you live in a neighborhood that is the complete opposite of the area around The K.

Yo I drove past a couple times to check her out. I've seen her get out of a cab and into a car that pulled over riteaway. I was on Front, a bit south of the K, closer to Cecil B. Moore. The girl was walking along Front, northbound, towards the K. I wasn't sure if she was a civvie or SW, but I'm guessing a civvie.
