In principle, I agree. In experience, I've had very, very few problems over the years, and they've been minor like toothpaste coming up missing.

The risk is worth the reward for me, but I've been given shit for years about taking too many risks. When they're in my home, I tend to watch them pretty closely. While I generally wouldn't recommend bringing to your home especially for starters, I have brought a handful to my home but only after a lengthy vetting period. And that's no guarantee. I generally do outs with a hotel preference. I got rooms in the past but I stopped, got ghosted plus had to slash fun money budget.
