I was thinking same thing last few weeks every place I go they want to know how much I'm going to tip before anything. It has never been this way I see 2 possibilities either the girls are getting stiffed, no pun intended or the girls are getting greedy. Where I go the massage parlors have doubled so more competition. No matter what you think 40,plus part of house fee is easiest tax free money these girls will ever make short of hitting lotto.

This is all solved if a MMS would introduce no tip at all. I spent some time around NYC in the fall and it was eye opening. $200-260 upfront for an hour with table shower and everything is available. And it really was everything. Not the version of "everything" we're used to in NH, MA or ME. Two girl is $400. No haggle, amazing service and happy times.

I would not do my job, and especially would not throw in extras for my customers, without a clear understanding in advance of what I will get paid. I don't just say, "Oh well, I will just do an amazing job and hope that the customer is so impressed I will be well paid!.

One way to explain it to your mamasan friend is that it's like a store putting something on sale. Customers know what it means and will not think it's going to last forever. Put up a sign that says something like "To thank our customers for their business we are temporarily lowering our rates to (whatever)" Maybe even put a date on there when it will end. This can always be extended if business hasn't quite picked up to where she's comfortable. She will need to resist the temptation to start cutting corners by shorting time or not changing / cleaning linens or (as Zimmm33 mentioned) lowering the heat.

I recall BVR in Sutton lowering rates several years ago and it worked. They had it clearly posted in the lobby and in the rooms that it was temporary. They maintained good service and reasonable tips during the sale. At the time I was going there every week and Yuyu / Kay even waived the house fee for me a few times (I still tipped of course) to thank me for being a loyal customer.

I agree with this. I don't try new places as often as I used to because instead of enjoying the massage and looking forward to the flip, I find myself wondering how the negotiation is going to unfold when I turn over. On top of that the quality has declined. I am not even talking about BJ instead of HJ. I'm talking about a good massage and HJ with good technique instead of a jackhammer (you come you come!) and the buzzkill of mid session negotiating. It used to be that almost every girl at a parlor could give a decent massage and gave full time. That's not the case now. They just poke and push, try to jackhammer on the flip, and rush your time so an hour is 45 minutes or less. Combine this with the rising house fees and tips and, well, at a certain point it becomes not worth it. A lower tip, less haggling, and better service would make me visit a place more often.

Many businesses rely on repeat customers and the AMPs are no exception. If you go to a restaurant and the food isn't very good, it's overpriced, the waitress has a bad attitude, and before she brings your food she starts negotiating the tip and wants it now, Are you going to go back there?

Went for my massage today and the mamasan did my massage so we were able to talk all through it. I brought up some of the ideas and she wasn't very receptive, she pretty much echoed some of the things said here, that most gentlemen will think she is cutting corners or service if lowering the price even temporarily. To zimmm33 point she told me that she keeps all her massage rooms at 74-76 all winter long, so that def isn't an issue. She doesn't get involved in the girls haggling, although I told her that was a major turn off and many guys just want the money discussed at the end, she said unfortunately, there are many cheap men who if a dollar amount isn't agreed upon that they will short change the girl. She says when a girl first starts with her she tells them not to talk about the tip and just accept it after and if the guy is cheap to let her know after and she will block him from coming back. Sounds like she is pretty hands off with the girls and lets them do whatever they are comfortable doing, service wise. She also told me that if customers complain to her that a girl puts in no effort or gives a bad massage that she lets her go and the opposite, if they are really good she tries to keep them for a year. I love this stuff and have always been fascinated with the backstory and how it all works, I wish that I could know it all.

So yesterday I go for my usual massage then afterwards I'm hanging out with one of the girls and the mamasan who has 3 local shops, the mamasan was telling me that her shops have not been this slow in 10 years that she has had them and that she is getting nervous, that her rent and expenses are $10,000 a month for the 3 shops and that she didn't make that in December or January. I said, you advertise on STG, why not put in your ads that you are temporarily rolling back your House fee's to 50/30. This concept blew her mind. " I can not do that. Then guys think they can pay that all the time. " I assured her that she could do that and when business is very good again, increase her prices. It was almost like I insulted her. I asked, isn't it better to get 50 twelve times a day then to get 60 twice? She said she would think about it but very unsure. Seem's like a an easy concept to me.

To me, this goes right along with the mentality to leave the rooms freezing all winter. I know I am harping on this all the time, but for me, not shivering through an appointment is REALLY important. I've reached the point where I don't even TRY new places from Nov to April because I am worried about freezing. I just go to the tried and true that have a warm room. I agree with your suggestion 100%. GET CUSTOMERS IN THE DOOR. DUH! I guess the thriftiness must be a cultural thing. Whereas Americans are always looking for a bargain. I rarely visit places that are charging $70 for the hour. Lower it to fifty bucks with a warm room...you are my new go-to place. Z.

I have never taken the 90 min massage option but was wondering what the tip should be if in general you are paying 60 house then 160 tip for BJ, DATY, CFS. But if you do 90 min, start off with the fun, get a massage then go back for round two of more fun?

Went twice to a place this week because my back and neck have really been bothering me. Upon entering each time, one woman in her mid-30's and another in mid-50's waiting at the desk.

First visit this week, I got a big smile and flirty eyes from the younger one, but I'd had a massage with the older one before and knew she was really good, so I picked her. Younger girl did not have much reaction.

Second visit I had already called ahead and asked for the older one. As I entered, the younger girl was shooting me daggers of death with her eyes. I gave each woman a warm hello individually, and the second girl half rolled her eyes. I chuckled to myself and when I left I made it a point to leave my very generous tip on the counter within sight of the younger gal. Got the daggers again, but left with a much better back and neck.

So hilarious. I guess that younger girl isn't used to losing out.

Been seeing a provider for about 4 months, sometimes twice a week. She's a sweetheart. Just wish she spoke english a little better, as using the translate app gets old.

Anyway, I had pretty major surgery early April and was unable to see her for 3 plus weeks until the other day. At start of session I explained what had been going on. She expressed concern, but I assured her I was going to have 100% recovery with no lingering issues.

So, massage ends, and I am just about to ask for the translate app again, when she grabs it herself and shows me a message to the effect of, "I want to help you since you have missed work. Please no tip today and please take this money to help you. " She hands me $200 in cash. (Yes, I am serious).

I think at first I am not going to take this, but the reason I was going to ask for the app in the first place was to say I need to replenish my hobby money before I would be back. 2-3 weeks. So, I told her via the app that I WOULD take the money, but I was just going to be back the next couple of weeks to spend it on HER.

She smiled and hugged me, and I hugged her back.

I just needed to post this because some guys on here are really brutal in their attitude toward providers. Just remember, it's NOT all of them.

'Tis the season when I stop visiting a variety of AMPs because they have historically refused to keep the thermostat at a reasonable temperature for late Fall / Winter / early spring. So, instead of spending my $60 or $70 at your place a couple of times per month, I am staying with the places that keep it reasonably warm. You cheapskate owners who keep the place in the lower 60's, you are losing out on my $120 to $140 per month as well as all the other guys who don't want their nuts frozen off. So, potentially, say there are just THREE other guys like me, that's $480 to $560 monthly. Seems to me, that MIGHT just pay the extra heating cost to keep the rooms 68 to 70 degrees.

Yeah fellow mongers, I know this isn't going to do dick squat, but it makes me feel a lot better.

P.S. BTW owners, cranking the heat for a customer upon arrival does nothing for that customer. Maybe the next guy will luck out, but if all the furniture, sheets, and towels are low sixties, nothing is going to be warm at the end of an hour visit.

PPS It might also make sense to TRAIN the girls on the proper way to run the heat. One girl last week was trying to make it warmer using the AC thermostat.

With the virus seemingly under control and airfare down, I have been told that many girls will be going home from Jan until first week of March and some shops even closing for a cpl of months. Again, this is just what I'm being told by some of my ATF's, so make sure you get your fill in December as it may be slim pickings for a few months.
