For your first question, that boat has sailed a long long time ago. I think 340-50 all in is still reasonable given inflation trends but anything more is nonsense and I'll spend my money elsehwere.

For the latter question, I think it's more about the keeping up the facade of LA glamour and ritz. I'm frugal no matter where I am but I do notice that LA pricing has always been like an island on its own even with the close proximity of OC. Saw Daisy recently. Big splurge but that view when hitting it from behind was worth it. Service is ok but she is definitely HYA.
