The Rocky Mount Police Department has arrested four people after a daytime shooting Thursday led to one man shot dead.

Officers said they arrested 33-year-old Andre Edwards, 25-year-old Jaylen Love, 21-year-old Haylee Joyner, and 33-year-old Rickshunda Anderson in connection to conspiring to rob a man, who they ended up shooting.

At 2:22 pm On Thursday, Rocky Mount police responded to the 900 block of Burton Street in reference to a shooting with injury. When officers arrived, they found 52-year-old Larry Hill suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Hill was taken to ECU Health with life-threatening injuries, but officers said he died Thursday night.

This is a great additional reminder of the dangers of this hobby. This is 2:00 pm for fucks sake. The monger probably responded to an ad with the cute white girl in it, and ended up fighting for, and losing his life. These scumbags probably killed this guy over $100. I get the concept behind this new law but this has little bearing on human trafficking and is only being utilized to harm men just looking for a good time.

At some of these hotels, most of the people who stay there are sex workers. This is going to cost them a lot of money, unless the hotel gets bonuses for arrests. But even then, the money will run out and the hotel will be in the red. This new law is stupid

In places where these laws have been in place for years, the evidence mostly shows it makes everything worse and doesn't achieve any of its goals.

Good read. If you think this new law is to actually stop human trafficking, you're nuts. This is just the moral police making their mark. I also found the hotel staff training part interesting. I bet they present to all hotel staff that human trafficking and prostitution are the same thing. Thus, if they see a room with a lot of activity, they are going to have been indoctrinated to think "OMG, that is probably human trafficking and I have to do my part to stop it". I see a lot of hotels being pressured to work in conjunction with LEO now.

They are actively recruiting PD's to reverse sting training. Thinking is since it's a felony now, the police will have more interest in making arrests.

This is simply a backpocket approach to policing. A Sheriff is up for reelection, lets entrap some guys in a escort sting and show the public we mean business. The law they had worked just fine but there has been a lot of traction with the term "human trafficking" Most people do not even know what that really means. But the politicians are going to go along with whoever gives them the most clout at the polls. The point is that LEO may go even harder to lure men into a sting.

Consider this, Imagine a new minted Senior Member, someone you do not know personally, messages you out of the blue and says "Hey I got this hot utr over here that needs some help to pay a bill and I cannot see her today, she is willing to do BBBJ and sex for 150 but she needs help today to cover a bill and I see you live in her area. Strickland said she expects much higher attendance the next time her organization trains law enforcement in conducting reverse sting operations against purchasers of sex. A reverse sting operation is an attempt to arrest criminals by selling an illegal commodity rather than attempting to purchase it, such as when an undercover narcotics officer poses as a drug dealer rather than a buyer.

Earlier this year, we conducted a reverse sting training which only 30 people attended. What we heard from law enforcement is that it takes a lot of staff, planning, and time to do a reverse sting operation against sex purchasers. Even if its completely successful, they end up with a handful of misdemeanors. It didnt make sense in terms of return on investment. Now that its a felony, we anticipate much higher attendance from law enforcement in the future. We look forward to working with law enforcement, DAs, and judges, because the law doesnt do any good if they dont use it.

Anytime there's a major bust, there are always politicians and wealthy customers. Laws don't change because the people with power never get in trouble and tough on the wages of sin plays well with the bases on the left and the right. Elliot Spitzer wasn't the only politician to get caught up with the service he was using yet his is the only name we saw talked about a lot and that was largely because people didn't like him.

Spitzer had a habit of going after the wealthy and digging deep into their affairs. He paid the price for that.
