Well, I would argue it wasn't the pandemic that caused inflation to hit a 40-year high, it was the government response to the pandemic that caused it. When you flood the economy with trillions of dollars and, at the same time, supply chains are broken because you needlessly shut down the global economy, that will cause inflation to rise sky-high.

Too many dollars chasing too few goods = high inflation. That's Economics 101. But that's what happens when no one in the government understands basic economics.

Sorry forgot to add a final point. I just think it's a cash grab on Ooyu's part, taking advantage of people's FOMO because of her limited work stay and relying on new or ignorant mongers unaware of her past incarnations. It's a false correlation to equate higher price with better quality. I mean, yeah, it should be but it's not always the case. Experiments of people asked to evaluate cheap items masquerading as high end products perfectly illustrates this point.
