To anyone who has anything at all to lose from exposure (essentially anyone who is not a confirmed bachelor and independently wealthy so does not have to work), op sec is crucial for any of these websites. That means paying w / prepaid debit cards and having a complete alter ego identity you use w / such sites, including burner phone and email, VPN, etc. IK so much more about this now than back then. Northern Virginia has a thread devoted to OpSec.

I do think these days Ashley is a lot of fake profiles, though these are on all the sites. You need to develop good bullshit detectors.

I had fantastic success with AM back when it was mainly married folks looking for something on the side. After the big hack, it seems everyone, including single got on the site. She's real. She used to be on Seeking. I met her for lunch once. Very thin but definitely cute. A bit detached but generally nice. Kinda pro-ish. I never moved forward because of logistics but if she was closer I may have gotten into something for a little while.
