Went here on impulse. They started doing the stupid sign in sheets, Eva was not happy about it and was clearly annoyed they are making her do it. Same level of service as before though.

Hopefully other counties won't be as zealous in attempts to enforce the new law.

CCSO Lt. Wade Williams, who has been leading the massage parlor arrests, said Huiping was a "designated establishment manager" at Phoenix Spa and has been on their radar for a long time.

The legal name of the establishment is Phoenix Spa, but they were doing business as Asian Angels.

Her salon did not pass inspection. Williams said it was because customers would give fake names, and the salon would not ask for their IDs to verify their true identities.

House Bill 197 aided in the entirety of the massage parlor bust.

I have thought all along that the inspectors will not be amused by some of the clever, they think, names that have been posted on this site by customers. I would think that if one uses a regular sounding name and believable address that the inspectors will not go to the length to verify each entry. My suggestion is to be smart not cute when you fill out the form unless you want your favorite spa to go away.

I have asked but not found any spas that I visit here in Fort Lauderdale to yet be inspected.

Reading posts from Alabama and Georgia. I think they believe their states will go the same route as Florida and see it as real threat to the industry.

Outsmarting the inspectors is what is clever not being silly.

So I have read the entire bill / law a few times. All the burden is on the spa. What the spa is required to collect from the customer is full name, address & phone. Now most will put bogus info and that is fine because there is nothing in the bill that requires verification. The wording in the bill is "confirm" the information. By definition, confirm is to ensure or affirm something that is already established. The spa could look at the sign in and say "is this accurate" and you reply "yes" and the language in the bill has been satisfied. Also, they probably won't get closed down for logins as it only rises to the level of a warning. (The log is supposed to have the attendants name, start of session and type of session before the session begins).

Where they are probably getting them is with a "License suspension emergency order". The language is along the lines of "emergency order suspending the license" regarding owners, managers, providers, officers etc. arrested for committing or attempting, soliciting, or conspiring to commit, or convicted or found guilty of, or has entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere to, regardless of adjudication of 19 different statutes (sex industry stuff from minor to major). Most places that aren't affected by the License suspension emergency order language should be able to comply with the bill. Its a few hoops to jump through but doable.
