Was about 2 months ago and I don't remember the exact. I was close enough LOL. It was def Gramercy T. Go in, tiny coat closet with the porter in it on the right and bar is straight in past the hostess.

They fought me to pay for it so I just remember seeing the menu and picked the items. I wonder if anyone really get the vegetarian options in each course, that's a pretty bad ripoff.

just minor commentary.

Thai Villa - well at least we agree on this one. Ate at the bar a few times so there's no wait. It's popular enough that good to take a girl there too. Never got regular indoor and ate outdoor once cuz I always do a walk-in so far.

Hawksmoor. The main room is nice and grand (3 floors high ceiling? Idk maybe just 2, looks nice). The steaks just didn't do it for me. Sauce was just alright, I had peppercorn and I forgot the other one. Was there with my favorite papasan to treat him to the best meal he had in a long time and he was really happy so I was happy for that reason but I wouldn't go back myself. Too many steakhouses in NYC to re-try a so-so place (for me).

Gramercy is famous but I think over-rated. I was there with 2 lovely ladies recently. Nice tasting menu but price of $185 pp was too much IMO. I'd want more refined taste for that money.

Hawksmoor https://www.hawksmoornyc.com/ - I love this place and will have to fight PB now. I've eaten at the bar, at the table, and in the private rooms. They serve a proper Sunday Roast. Get it with a Shaky Pete's.

Gramercy Tavern https://www.gramercytavern.com/ - still the best restaurant in New York, even if you are eating at the bar.
