They clearly tell you to get there 10 minutes early and if you do get there 10 minutes early then you're just going to be 5 minutes early to the apartment because the most you're ever going to wait is 5 minutes. Unless you don't understand that you can use an earpiece to easily open the gate as it has been documented by many many many people. Also there's a UPS or a FedEx truck or a postal worker or somebody getting a cup of coffee that is constantly coming and going from all three gates.

I think having multiple choices and agencies is very important in the long-run. Also, it's best if everyone knows the basic facts and knows what to expect. That's all I want to inform, each agency has its positives. We all have many choices here.

I'm not the booker or owner, just a monger that has read up on what happened in Boston and getting a good look behind the curtain on operations. In Boston there was an individual that would sign the lease having met the requirements for credit score, employment, background check, down payments, etc. Same process for rentals in San Diego and with that location being in La Jolla, I'd suspect it's a bit tougher. The location and floor plan work very well and the gate issue is not that big a nuisance. Truly, this gate issue has existed for several years and the mongers bring up this nuisance on a regular basis. This is only a nuisance and does not impair, slow down, or impede business. No need to relocate.

In 12 years I have only ever parked on the north side, usually lots of 2 hour parking. There is a gate on the north side and back when FEC buzzed you in I used that gate. So I got used to parking there. It's a 3 minute walk from there to the main entrance. You can even exit by the north gate straight to that side. Absolute worst case there are two options of paid parking.

If you get a parking warning, best to be careful for a while. Some places tow after the 1st warning or two. My mom got her car towed visiting after getting 1 warning. No clue it got towed other than it was gone, called the leasing office, then the tow company, which confirmed I could stop by when they were open. $400. More than the money it's just not fun.

We could all use the 3 minute walk as exercise. SDAG had its own issues, especially at the old location (s). But the newer location is great for the most part. But they fall behind schedule more, partly since they are busier etc.

The parking is another problem, if you park there on the west side you need a parking pass. Got a warning the other day for not having a parking pass. I guess one could take the trolley or a bus and not have to worry about parking.

1 - when I monger in Korea, the girls will call you oppa / casual tone right away. And there is always a bit of small talk, so I just wondered if it was the same stateside. Granted, it was at massage parlors, not agencies.

2 - When I was living in NJ, there were some Korean shops that didn't cater to Korean customers, I am assuming since the Korean-American community is small, they were fearful of people finding out. I haven't been in SD that long, and have only visited the typical AMP before.

My knife method does work 100%. If you're worried about being discreet you can try the knife method on the south gate where there is little traffic. Another thing the booker could do is install a lock box with the key to the gate. Get the key, open the gate and on your way out return the key to the lock box for the next person to use.

1) I've been in massage parlors in Korea and feel it's about the same here. Most providers will focus on making you feel special.

I'll put it this way. A few girls are Japanese or are Korean who speak Japanese very well. And a few of the Thai girls speak Chinese very well. Usually, they ask about my race and where I'm from after we're just relaxing, and I mention it (I can speak both pretty well). If they don't ask, I don't say. If a girl is openly advertised as Japanese, I'll say konnichiwa meeting her but stick to English after. I'll follow their lead if they're open. One of the Thai girls, the first time we talked a lot in Chinese (she's part Chinese), good vibes. But the 2nd and 3rd visits were business only (I'm guessing she's a bit worn out from riding the San Diego express), so I didn't speak any. I don't want to add stress to her day by asking her to open up, let the girl open up if she chooses. Don't push it, the girl will show you her level of comfort. Most girls do not want long conversations in the first place. Words should be used to put a girl at ease, not push her limits.

2) In Socal there are lots of Asian customers, especially at the OC agencies, so maybe you'll have more luck here. I remember one agency 12 years ago asking me if I was Korean or Black, the other didn't care. I didn't get the impression it meant I couldn't go, just that they wanted to know ahead of time so they could inform the girl. Very rarely a guy might get obsessed with a girl to where it is stressful to work, and being Korean can make that worse. They do not want to have to move a girl to another city early.

But, first things first, you need to get verified. If at all possible, use HX. It is the easiest way because your network vouches for you.

I won't give very detailed instructions because that makes it too easy for the wrong person to do it. But to help those already on HX, two things. First, some korgs are more selective and want two recent network. That's just what they want and they'll even say go to another agency first that's less selective (I can confirm 100% this is a valid route). After all, if you see the Thai booker and things went smoothly enough that the Thai booker ads you to their network, that proves you aren't trouble and addresses a majority of concerns. It's smart because the Thai agency is screening you for safety, first. I got my very first network with a freelancer. I suppose if a person isn't able or willing to put in the work to get their first network, they are not the ideal customer anyways. So this system makes sense from their perspective.

It may take some tries. With the end of glasses you pull and against the curved latch it recedes, but once your glasses pulls all the way past the latch it pops back in place. So sometimes you should pull on the gate so the moment the latch recedes enough the gate opens (so the latch can't pop back in and lock). I assume with the knife technique you don't pull through, you just press, so doing it steady and far enough should work. Doing this one handed so your other hand can pull on the gate same time may be the easiest, at least for me.

I used to follow others in just fine but after changing my appointment times it's always deserted at that time. The far right gate is pretty private, I'm early and in two 10 minute periods only one person passed the area. I suppose I could set lunch appointments instead when it's busier but with this method I don't have to.

Just have a pair of reading glasses with you. Fold out one of the temples and use the trick I described. I hesitated to even talk about this because I fear we have mongers who will do silly things, like use knives or other means of entry that look suspicious and get caught.
