Absolutely not. I just use Textnow numbers. Most of them do too. Everyone's trying to be discreet, this ain't a one-way street. Almost none I've seen have a problem with it, aside from when it sometimes drops calls when I get close to them.

I don't see how anyone gets by without doing that. Whether I've been ghosted early in the texting process, or I'm the one doing the ghosting (such as when I batch contact a few escorts, and pick the best / fastest responding option), it helps to be able to "try again" with a new / different number any time I want to. No escort gets my real number. If she requires a real number, I ain't seein her. I'd drop a face pic from my random number before I give my real phone number.

Also disposable numbers easy to coverup (allegedly, if you're in a relationship). You uninstall the app when you're not using it (and a few other small erases), and you're out of the hobby until you re-install it. Try and check out Operation Sex Sting. It's a documentary about the Polk County Sheriff in FL, Grady Judd, who is infamous for high profile prostitution stings.
