Even before I swapped my social pics with cloaked ones, when I did a search using a cloaked pic it wasn't able to find me. I also filled out the form on pimeyes to not track / index my face and that was pretty painless. I haven't done that with any of the other sites, but I probably will.

I just checked again on facecheck.id with two cloaked images and neither could find me. The only thing I did with my social media pics is to change my profile pic for google, facebook and linked-in to cloaked images. I didn't do every pic I've ever uploaded, but I also keep Facebook set to only friends and I'm not all that active on any site. It's definitely a risk, but I have been burned by girls getting really upset about being catfished so I will generally send a real pic unless the person has given me a reason to be warry of them.

Could you give a "cloaked picture" definition or how to do it?

Read the Fawkes site carefully. Cloaking the pic you send a girl does no good. The ones you must cloak are the ones they use to form the neural net that recognizes you, which you also said you do.

I have been to some hotels that don't check I'd, so with those you could book the room through Hotels.com with any name, and use Hotels.com gift card to pay for it. Of course that could be the day that they insist on seeing your I'd, but it could work.

And you want to check all the important details with the sb, long before you get to the hotel. Of course they can still lie, and "change their mind" at any point, but at least it makes it slightly more difficult for the to do so, if they have agreed to it, if you have text right there to show them.

If you read back through the forum, you'll find WYP has been around for ages. It's owned by the same person who owns SA. Several problems with it:

1. It's based on a credits system. No one has said that it's very efficient.

2. Because of the credits system there have been many who feel that there are lots of fake profiles on there to get guys to spend more credits.

3. The WYP part is explicitly just for platonic dates. You are expected to pay just for meeting with a lady. There have been stories of successfully getting to intimacy, but those are VERY few and VERY far between.

Bottom line. It's the considered opinion of almost everyone on the board that it's a waste of time and money.

Of course, others may have a different opinion.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question and provided advice. I have one additional question. I had a friend about 5 years ago tell me if I was ever interested in creating a SA profile one day to never use my real pictures. They said people normally use pictures that look reasonably close to them. Is this true?

It's safer to use someone else's picture that just looks similar to you. Even when you move to text messages, what's to stop them from uploading your picture to some website or using it to find out who you really are.

Like one other person posted, Facecheck. I'd does a damn good job in finding matches of your picture on other social media sites.

Always book hotels in your name. If shit goes south, at least they'll know who to put the blame on. Too late for that, unfortunately. This brave new world certainly has its drawbacks.

I uploaded the pics I sent out to girls, to facecheck.id and it came back with my Meetup.com profile that I must have made 15 years ago, and for some stupid reason, put my real name on it. I changed it now, but not sure how much that helps.

Interesting. I play in the DC area and have noticed of late many more SBs are wearing sunglasses in their primary picture. I guess word is getting out about facial recognition technology. Even if sunglasses do not protect you.

It's too late to cloak the pictures that are already out there on the web for me professionally. I'm very hesitant to share any face pics now with potential SBs.
