We can do our own research on here and know who's a real provider, but they don't have the same luxury, so I get how why she is so cautious. The same thing goes for the deposit. Yes, if an unvetted provider asks for a deposit, you are about to get scammed. However, none of her reviews mentioned being scammed and after seeing how many time wasters blow up her phone, I can see why she does this.
