Easier to just get a burner app. Runs on your existing phone but bounces your call through their system so it looks like it is coming from a different number that you can "burn" and replace at any time. Just google "best burner app."

Said they had found a phone that was owned by "Susan Casanova" and she was a missing minor thought to be kidnapped and in use in human trafficking and the last contact on the phone was from my number.

He would not share the phone number I supposedly used to reach her or her alias.

Several times he told me to google the phone number and his name. The phone number does good as Raleigh PD but his name shows up in a number of benign entries not related to any law enforcement.

He went on to ask me if I saw her or knew where she was. I told him I had no recollection of a Susan Casanova.

He told me that their procedure was to refer me to a psychological evaluation and if that checked out they would know I am not involved with her disappearance. That evaluation would cost me $1,000+ and be refundable if I 'passed".

I declined his offer and he said that they would send 'a unit' to my house to arrest me and take me 'downtown'. I asked which downtown, since I don't live in Raleigh, and he stammered and finally said Raleigh and gave me the street address for the main Raleigh PD.
You are being scammed 100%. Why in the world you respond to their calls / texts in the first place? Good lord man.

It would be good to share which ads you responded to unless you're worried about outing one of them as a scam by accident.

Spoofing caller I'd is incredibly simple. Cops don't call to investigate unless they're following up after already having been in contact with you. For the first contact they just show up. They also don't tell you to go spend money to later be reimbursed. This 1000% a scam attempt.

So far I have not seen a Raleigh PD officer or a US Marshall.

Any similar experience with any of you?

I have not had that pleasant experience, but thank you for sharing.

To anyone else reading who doesn't already know, spoofing a caller I'd is extremely easy, all it requires is downloading an app from the app store and paying <$1 per call. I'm sure there are cheaper ways to do it, but my point is that someone's caller I'd means virtually nothing. Stay safe everyone.

    That's a first

Wow, thanks for sharing. I think and hope it's a scam. Please keep us posted.

Fayetteville / Cedar Creek / etc

I am sure I'm not the only one who ventures south occasionally for fun times. Cedar Creek is fairly popular with some well-known girls, and until now, the "other" side of 95 has never given me much pause, until TWO shootings last weekend, one fatal.

Anyone who might feel the urge to make a round trip this weekend should definitely be aware of increased uncle presence, including ALPR.

Probably a good time to find some UTRs or home-based chicks, else avoid the Ville until things calm down. What a shame.

The CDC is investigating one of the worst meningococcal outbreaks in USA History. Because of the outbreak in Florida, the agency has reported at least 26 cases and 7 deaths with approximately half of the outbreak cases among Hispanic men.

I have never had any luck with a provider that has a phone number with a area code of 984. In fact most responses that I can recall have resulted in excessive spam, or some sort of scam (Like a prepay of sorts).
