I will absolutely, at some point in my life, make it a point to see her again. Not sure if it'll be a few weeks from now or a few months, but I'd love to try my hand once I'm a little more wizened and a lot less numbed!

It sure is. From my experience, it is about 50/50 chance of whether they tell you or not. However, once you get there most people can just tell. I'd be cautious with unreviewed Thai providers. With that said, it is not common, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Like I said, you'll be able to tell most of the time.
