There are plenty of people who can google their real number and the results will show current or past addresses, family relatives, etc. Whitepages can sell your information to third parties as well as receive it. In some cases, yes if you've been real conservative with your information then you may not be as easily searchable as one who wasn't. Some sites require paywalls but others if yo upside enough you will find what you need. Getting a burner app or burner phone is the best way to avoid tracing, period. Given the times we live in and how advanced technology is, I don't see why anyone should want to use their regular number at all.

1. Go to whitepages.com and do a reverse phone search. It will tell you. Most texting apps won't connect the call immediately if they call you so that's another way they can find out.

2. Your best bet is to get a burner phone with a prepaid plan. That way, the caller I'd will come back as legit, and if you get robbed by their pimp or something your real phone is safe at home / in your car. Just FYI, Simple Mobile (Tracfone) does not let you set a caller I'd. If you go prepaid with a real carrier, they might ask for and / or use your real name.
