Panequil seemed to work in south Korea. As for a full shutdown, it cannot really happen in a free country. Apparently China did it but we will never know if it worked. Italy is trying, not working. Israel may work, the population there is well developed in terms of IQ.

I think it will be a bit more than three weeks, as you have to account for people who were infected on day 1 of the lockdown, and also for incidental infection that occurs during the lockdown as people go shopping, visit their doctor, etc. Probably more like 4-6 weeks. The big problem is going to be people who think it's a hoax, young people who think they are immune, and others who just don't care or understand the risk. Incomplete enforcement / following of the lockdown could let this thing slide on for weeks or months. I hope that is not the case, but we should be prepared for it.
