I don't know if you bothers know this, but I can first hand attest to the fact license plate checks and hotel employees will find you. Many years ago, I rented a room at an upscale location in Raleigh and had a young lady over. Later, as I was enjoying a nightcap, I get a knock at the door.

I'm pretty sure that a hotel room is the same as a residence, and as such LEO would need to have a Search Warrant to enter. Thats not to say that they may not visit you for questioning, but you should be able to keep them from crossing the threshold of your domain.
