That was a lot of rambling but I guess I know how your mind is operating and I wanted to try and bring some sort of comfort in how to address the issue directly instead of letting anxiety dictate letting yourself do what you love to do (mongering of course). Chances are always high when doing this, factors being taken into consideration and practicing less risky behaviors is simply a matter of your own level of comfort, luck, and ability to pay close attention to your health regularly.
As I said before, I have dreamed a dream where I am working for a health department that has seen cases of a woman coming in who her husband of 30+ years infected her, but it was due to his own faulty decisions and poor judgement. IV drug use is my big "hell no", to where I'll pay more for a woman that even appears clean compared to some of the women many of us mongers have winced at.

I've been watching how all this has unfolded and I wasn't going to weigh in but it seems everyone might need so perspective.
