Hey, this is like every other industry: you have to constantly do research, check your sources, keep notes that need to be regularly updated, cross-check a dozen websites, confirm information in the forums and then do it all over, again and again and again and again. Isn't that how you buy pizza and search for hotels when you travel?

Just kidding, of course. To me, the lack of CV and TER has had four main effects for mongers: (1) The on-ramp for new mongers barely exists now, so the ladder has been pulled up and the barriers to entry are now too high for any new guy to reasonably overcome; (2) Provider performance is down substantially; no reviews = poor service. Imagine if Yelp died -- guess what would happen to restaurant performance?; (3) Risk-taking is way up; unless you are repeating, you are TOFFT in a big way; (4) USASG has become a critical lifeline. I'm grateful you guys are here!
