Well, here's why it's so confusing. If you go this site https://www.medhelp.org/forums/Herpes/show/195 it seems that most people, including doctors, are saying that risk is minimal. Oral is virtually non-existant, and a condom will almost always protect you. I'm so torn! I want to go to Eco so badly but I don't want to bring anything home with me.

HSV whether type 1 or 2 can be acquired whether sores present or not. HSV may be "Asymptomatic" which is still contagious. Of course if its present, and you have a break in the skin, chances are very high. Wrestlers get HSV from skin to skin contact. This is known as "Herpes Gladiatorum". Google it.

Next: condoms may not cover areas where HSV are present so you are at risk even with the raincoat.

And: the herpes virus cannot live long when exposed to air. It favors warm moist conditions to live. But still, let's be careful out there.

I'm not looking for any info on AIDs. I have my opinion on that one. I'm wondering how many of you have or have known someone who ended up with a STD wearing a condom. The info I get online is so confusing. It looks like a condom doesn't fully protect against herpes. Is this really true? I don't just mean if it breaks. I'm married and my life would be destroyed if I were to get an STD. Obviously, I'm not one to do anything bareback. I guess I can stick with FBSM and handies. Also, a lot of you are into DATY. Is that not also poor safety?

Herpes, HPV, tric, ngu. Mostly happen in bb. First two not curable with meds, though in hpv a high percentage of carriers will self rid after a couple of years. First two can happen even with covered.

Syph, gon, clam. Frequency goes up and down. Meds at the clinic.

HIV. We've seemed to have controlled this problem pretty well in this country. Too bad a lot of providers aren't from this country.

You catch it from saliva from a infected person, skin contact with sore. Oral sex. So DATY and bbj are out.
