I've had it go both ways. Sometimes the negotiation in the VIP results in her dropping from her initial ask to something reasonable pretty quickly when she realizes that that's the only way she's going to make money beyond the room fee. Sometimes she holds to her number and I end up with a vanilla dance. Either way you have to stick to your guns and not let the little head take charge. I think more often than not she caves in my experience but that will vary depending on how hot / popular the girl is and how busy the club is. Yes, I prefer to negotiate in VIP for a couple reasons. Like Casey says once she's in the room she can't make any more money unless she gets you to tip. So make sure you're ready to pass if you can't agree on the price. I make sure she can get me hard, no point otherwise of course, and the first few mins is my chance to look out for red flags to abort. Give her a chance to get comfortable for me to make her decision easy. Then she asks me if I want something more. I make it clear I want sex for 2. You want to name the starting price.

There are long-time veterans at clubs like SR who don't do extras, they don't need to. So if you are at SR where it's uncertain, the girl will usually tell you on the floor that more is available. You can just ask. I always say it's not what I'm there for but curious if it's available, so they know it's a matter of price before we do anything. At SR and Synn 2 is the most common price for me, I've heard some guys go lower and certainly a few girls only do higher. ymmv

Occasionally I have my eyes set on a girl I really like, so I don't have much choice but to approach her even though I know it might be GPS or high prices. Last time I went to Knockouts, they had pre-bundled stacks of ones. And each stack had $18. They don't even tell you they take 10% so unless you count it, you don't really know. I figured it out cause I ended up not spending the ones and counted it when I got home. I got 2 stacks and both stacks were like that so I don't think it was a mistake on their part.

A friend of mine was a strip club DJ / manager. He partook plenty. He used to joke he should sue for sexual harassment. Dancers would go into his booth, ostensibly to pick their tracks, and paw at him and more. It was a regular game for them to drop down in the booth (where they couldn't be seen from the seating areas) and blow him while he was talking, just to see if they could make him mess up. He said it was so intense (I.
