Firstly, I couldn't care less about photo watermarks.

Secondly, I don't set the internal clock of either my camera or my photo software, so absolutely anything is likely to happen. When I have bothered to look I have seen things as odd as an origination date for a photo that is different from the creation date, or an origination or creation date or editing date or digitization date or whatever which is in the future and hasn't even happened yet!

Thirdly, when I transfer image files to be in another image file folder, as when I have previous images of the same person that I want to store together, my software has an annoying tendency (about which I care not) in certain circumstances to re-stamp the creation date to be the same as the creation date of the folder, and restart the clock at that time, even though it might stamp a current editing or access date. I have seen it do this when I copy the file as opposed to cutting the file and moving it. Why? I have no idea. My pure guess is because the software thinks it is meant to be a part of the folder, since it recognizes that it is a copy and not an original, and should be time stamped compatibly with other images in the folder. However, I have also seen(when I bothered to look) an editing or creation date before a picture was even supposedly taken, or a future date that has not yet even occurred (how weird is that!).

Fourthly, the camera date is almost never reliable, although, sometimes, if I have kept up the charge before the battery dies, and have set the camera clock recently for any reason, such as to stamp a date on an image, it might actually show an accurate date (at least until the battery dies again). If I have touched the date button inadvertently the camera date is like a time machine. It could be anything. Sometimes images actually show a semblance of dates which make sense.

Fifthly, if I cared at all about any of this, and I were an anal professional photographer, I am sure I would pay more attention to make sure all the clocks were working properly and have accurate and reliable information.

Sixthly, I am sure most of you are so thoroughly bored with the tedium of this whole discussion that you have not even bothered to make it this far in the post.

I used to include the "damages" in my reports, but I stopped doing that. Every monger is different and I find myself to be far different from most, so a report of damages every time probably won't do readers much good other than provide one more thing for critics to throw a rock at for some reason or other.
