How did you check on the LE action at Spa 18? is there a Web site or something? I still think any Asian guys other than the manager that were in cuffs were probably gambling. Other than an owner/manager, there's really no reason for Asian guys to be there (unleass they're customers) if LE is simply checking for massage licenses. If LE didn't arrest White/Black/Hispanic customers, I doubt they would target only Asian male customers. From my understanding, the establishment itself needs to be licensed for body massages, not just the providers. I had a Chinese acquaintance asking if I could pull some strings so he could upgrade his foot massage place to do body massages but I wanted no part of it as he's shady as hell.

You're right about one thing - rarely do any Asian massage girls have real licenses. Most are fake and most girls don't even have green cards. The Asian mafias/sub-cultures are expert at getting girls into the US and keeping one step ahead of LE. Rarely do the guys behind it get caught. Usually the girls suffer, if anyone.

I am friends with an owner and a couple of therapists in the area. The girls are all interconnected as friends, so gossip and news spread within minutes throughout the metro area. Foot massage joints and massage business require separate licences. The massage license is much more expensive. Doraville City Govt. wants to weed out the foot massage places, though, and drastically raised the license fee for foot massages places and is restricting how many they'll give out. They are keeping a close watch to make sure that they don't have unlicensed personel working there.

I have a lot of sympathy for the women who work in these places. Once you learn their stories, you'll find that most of them have come through a long, expensive, and dangerous process to get here. Many are in debt up to their eyeballs. Most work extremely long hours and don't make a lot of money. Everyone makes money but them. (I'm not talking about the Korean AMPs, which is a whole different story.) Most of these women have very, very tough lives. I think everyone needs to keep that in mind when you visit and are tempted to be rude or abusive. A little courtesy and kindness goes a long, long way.

Ok, I did some checking and found out what happened at Spa 18. Nite is right--it was all about massage licenses. The girls can do foot massages without a license but for body massages need to go to school and get a state license. The arrests involved only the staff--no customers. However, LE can question a customer as a witness, and it would be a hassle to be caught up in that. Only a few of the therapists on BH have body massage licenses, so it will be hard to get anything but a foot massage for awhile. That's at least true for the Doraville part of BH.

I watched from across BH for about 30 minutes. They brought out only males - one at a time - I saw four or five brought out in cuffs and put into a waiting police van. Do not know if they were just threatened and released or booked.

I know SPA has some guys working there, but did not think they had that many. They could have broughts out the gals before or after - do not know.

Yeah, know about the whole license mess.

I thought Spa 18 was ok because they have a new staff and all are licensed, or so I heard. If a customer get questioned and says that an unlicensed therapist gives him a massage, usually it's the therapist and not the customer who is in trouble. They might go after customers if there's proof that illegal activity is going on, but I had the impression that Spa 18 was clean. This is strange and disturbing. Romping, did you see more than one customer actually arrested? Could you tell if they were Asian or Caucasian? I'm just wondering if these are owners or customers. In any case, probably best to avoid Doraville for awhile.

Was on Buford Hwy tonight around 8:00pm and noticed police action at SPA 18. They had a paddy wagon and were bringing folks out one at a time in handcuffs. I circled around and watched for a few minutes from across the street. Appeared to be mostly men they were bringing out.

Anyone have any more info?
