She was married to a military guy. He was a little tight fisted with his paychecks.
Met her in a legitimate Thai shop before Covid.
By chance, had a massage with her at a naughty shop while the husband was on a deployment during Covid.
Was still a nice and sweet lady, just a little happier with extra money in her purse.

She left out the best part: tax free as we all pay cash. They probably have some part time job or report minimal earnings from massages for tax purposes.

Posts: 380Providing a handjob. The risks and rewards.
Being a massage therapist is hard and physically demanding.

Just like playing in the NFL, the risk of injury is understood.
Legit and handjob massage therapists are picking a more flexible and hopefully shorter work schedule and higher income.
With the massage and handjob, the handjob is not overtime.
At Thai and Chinese handjob shops, it is expected.
As independent workers not employed by the shop, they do not receive sick leave, vacation time, health insurance, contributions to Social Security or Medicare, employer matching funds to a 401 k or pension.
However, if a woman can build a customer base of 3 handjob customers a day, 5 days a week, 48 weeks per year (4 weeks in Thailand or Taiwan), she can take home $90,000 to $100,000, NOT working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week.
Years ago, one of my massage therapists did the above math and happily told it to me as she gave me a handjob.
Been happily supporting this hobby for "only" 10+ years.
Figured out that on a yearly basis, I spend more money on "massages" than restaurants, take-out food and boba drinks.

Posts: 2531Brother, can they afford workers comp insurance or is it ridiculously over priced? I one was running a business and general liability along with every other tax and premiums out there wasn't that bad. If you can bring in the revenue then you can get these insurances.

Posts: 380I do not think Mona at Thai Touch Massage in Kalihi dislikes you.
I think Mona and other massage therapists ask for high dollar amounts, hoping a few will pay it.

Thai shops and therapists don't like you because after the flip, they know if they don't price handjob correctly, you are willing to pass.

Massage is hard work. Physically demanding. Careers cut short from overuse injuries. No workman's compensation. If they are going to work overtime then they want a premium. If you can do better then by all means take your business elsewhere. Some call it Uber pricing. Rates go up when demand is high.

I must be disliked by Mona since she always demanded 200 from me. That's why I have stopped seeking her.

Posts: 1137Turning down market rate tip
Don't think these women are that dumb. There is a method behind the madness. Seems it only new guys or guys they don't like get hit for 200. They got plenty of regulars in the 160-170 range. I know Mona is the rainmaker for this place. There would be no Thai Touch without her. They don't want 10 guys a day. They don't want carpel tunnel and overuse injuries. Seems they are happy to make enough to live, Vegas and Thailand vacations and nice dinners. I've known Mona long time and she takes care of her favorites. If she went to 200 on me I'd stop going. 170 is the optimal price using quantitative analysis while factoring in the intangible work / life balance.

Posts: 380Sophia at Thai Touch Massage in Kalihi would rather earn $90 instead of $160.
I now remember you.

You are my idol.
The math:
Turn down 2 $160 handjobs per day, 5 days per week, 48 weeks per year.
- $140/ day ($160 - $90 = $70 x 2) x 5 days / week x 48 weeks / year (1 month in Thailand) = - $33,600.
The ones that do not set a minimum for their sexual services will sometimes get a new budget customer.
Like any restaurant, store or business, your job is not to make money once, but to turn that customer into repeat business.
Delight and amaze me, I will become an ATM for your services.
Instead of thinking you are losing $40 by insisting on $200 and rejecting $160, consider you are gaining $33,600/ year by accepting $160.

If Mona demanded 200 I'd stop seeing her. I really like her but she is not worth 200. No massage and HE is worth 200. I can get a BBBJ tossed in from others from 130-170. Massage is shit though. Never met Sophia. But the junior varsity at Thai Touch has always been ok with 140. Didn't like any of them.

Posts: 380Thai Touch Massage on North King Street, next to San Nicholas Chicharon.
I have been to Thai Touch four times.
Not within the last six months. Not with Mona or Sophia.
After three of the four flips, I was asked: How much are you going to tip / give me? Tammy did not ask.
My answer: I will figure out how much after we are done. Conversation is done at this point and handjob starts.
No blowjob, no sex, shirts up, bras up or off, no issue with playing with boobs, pussy play over yoga pants, butt play over and under yoga pants.
Based on quality of massage, cellphone interruptions, time, conversation, overall fun, I gave between $160 and $190. The one therapist that asked for $170 was given $190.
Give whatever you want to give. If a therapist asks for a certain amount and you are not comfortable, get off the table, look at your phone for time.
If the rate is $80/ hour and the massage at the point of the flip was 45 minutes, give her $60. If the massage was good, tip $15. $75 total.
Get dressed. Hand her $75. Explain the math. Smile. Say thank you. Leave.
