Having a Chinese girlfriend that was in the business For years I had behind the scenes experience I've seen their store kitchens, laundry room sleeping area and no not all slept in the store they shared apartments. And I thought earlier in the day the kids were in American schools learning how to live in America the moms were probably cleaning buildings or some fast food joint and the dads are sitting there eating their dinner with there family with sun burnt necks and cement under their finger nails doing hard ass jobs most Americans won't do or won't doo for a long stretch. Asian or Latino they are chasing the same dollar as us trying to survive no bodies forcing it they can always go back. So this Dick Head claiming organized crime forced bull shit. So, I've dug into this one a bit more. Yes, you are correct that he was observed picking her up. He was pulled over for a moving violation (the easiest probable cause for a stop). He first denied everything, but they separated the provider and convinced her to admit everything. Then they confronted him about this information, and he claimed that he was a preacher doing a good deed, giving her money for food. Her admission was enough to charge him, eventually. His admission that he actually offered her money will make it virtually impossible for him to escape conviction, and enabled him to be arrested at the scene. He thought this story was going to get him off, but it's what got him cooked. Note that Wake has one of the highest felony conviction rates in the state, so your attorney is already starting behind the eight ball here. Always remain silent. There's one huge additional reason to remain silent. If you admit enough that the cops can charge you immediately, you're going to county, where they're going to take your mugshot (and in this case WRAL found that booking mugshot). If they don't believe they don't yet have enough evidence to charge you immediately, they will probably not be arresting you immediately. Note that the scariest defendant to cops is the one who invokes their right to remain silent. What this means is that the detectives will be pulling warrants for devices, etc over the course of a couple weeks to try to prove the case. Your attorney will be challenging every step, and simultaneously be making arguments about the strength of your defense to try to scare off prosecutors (and no junior prosecutor wants to charge a case they could lose in a high conviction rate county. That's just a poor career decision). When / if you are charged, your attorney will likely already have a pre-negotiated bond, which means you will go to the Police Station to have your mugshot taken and be printed and then released from there, or transported directly to the court for a quickie arraignment and immediately released. Your attorney will time this so that you surrender yourself at the PD at just the right time to make your arraignment. You will not appear on Wake County's mugshot site, because PD mugshots aren't released. The news stations may very well miss the case entirely, and if they do find it, they'll be airing it without your picture (like the Durham cop that was recently busted for solicitation). This is how the privileged get arrested, and not having everything blasted out into the world may keep some of the parts of your life intact. A sad truth that every attorney knows about our Justice System. County mugshot sites are just the public shaming of people with no money or resources. If you're smart you'll avoid that shame.

I will never understand why anyone will talk to a cop. You are getting a ticket or not you are getting arrested or not. Talking to them only gets you in more trouble! Never the less, people lie to them all day, and they are used to it. I used to work in a pawn shop for a few years, it took me about 3 months to tell when I was being lied to by anyone. Just hand them your I'd on a traffic stop and say nothing, talking only fucks you! The entire cop excuse of don't lie to me just tell me the truth will make it easier on you is a complete lie.

This is an attempt to cash in because you 100% miss the shots you don't take. The time period is eight years ago. "Should have known sex trafficking was going on" is subjective based on their reasoning. These lower end motels see people who regularly fit the descriptions of impaired, malnourished, yelling and make loud noises. Motels have policies that say they don't allow illegal activities on their property. Former employees could be charged but there needs to be audio or video evidence that they knew without any doubt and did nothing or knew and helped facilitate for profit.

I recognize that most non-legal professionals don't follow legal cases and torte history like those of us who do this for a living, but your opinion is completely wrong. These cases against lodgers have been unbelievably successful in North Carolina. You simply would not believe the amounts that prostitutes have been collecting from hotel chains. You need zero evidence to win a civil judgment. You just need to convince a jury, which is pretty easy to do. This is one of the reasons why the NC Lodging Assoc welcomed the new law, even with all its burdens and penalties for that industry. The new law makes it very difficult for future plaintiffs to collect these judgments for damages incurred after 7/1/25. Obviously this case is about damages incurred before the new law, and there's a bit of a rush for lawyers to find prostitutes and file cases. This is the golden age for former prostitutes to sue hotels, and former customers for big paydays. The juries are very sympathetic.
