Posts: 834Listened to the FedWay City Council meeting from last night
They sent the MP ordinance back to committee but would like to vote on it next month. Police chief says 40 or so "illicit" massage parlors in Federal Way and they have closed 4 of them. Lots of bogus talk about trafficking. Says often #30 K plus in cash on premise, not true for one place I know. Question was asked of the 4 shops closed how many trafficking "victims" were identified, police said one, no one else would talk. I'm dubious of the one.
They are modeling after Kent, Renton, and Olympia ordinances, I know in at least Renton and Olympia those get ignored. The no cash policy will never survive, as well as the door locking, Just make a fire door that can always be opened from within.
Seems they want to see Federal Way be less of a magnet for these businesses though.
Cops really have more important things to do but they probably enjoy harassing MPs. Not too scary for them.

Sex work should be decriminalized. Religious Zelots should never be allowed to be in control. Obviously the law is unenforceable, so they use these code enforcement tactics to suppress sex commerce. Too bad these Chinese service providers is unlike another ethic and racial "minority" and can get Karens to protest these jackboot dipshits.

Once again, using fire code to close up the shops.

It doesn’t specify massage shops in the article… but it’s the massage shops. Big red signs on the doors.

Posts: 83That article warned that something would happen in FedWay.
It happened today.
Looks like they are trying to raid and close every store.
Wonder how much money they seized.

Posts: 1281Only if there's a way that your PII could have been made available to them, or some other way of identifying you. Aside from that, I see no cause for concern.
