One of the reasons I frequent AMPs is that you don't need an appointment. Not sure what the big deal is as far as waiting a few minutes, especially given that most providers outside of AMPs also frequently make you wait. As has been said Ad Nauseam, they will take who is there first rather than risk a no-show. I also try to go during non peak hours although I get that not everyone has that option. I have also been trying a few other shops on the fringe, they are way less busy but then the ladies are typically older, not as good looking and many times have a more restrictive menu. That being said, either of those options are still better than most providers on the GPS Board. So, I would say just give up on trying to make an appointment. What I will sometimes do is to text them about a specific provider when I am about a half hour away, not sure if that helps.

Yeah, I have learnt that non-peak hours is the best experience. I pinged a few of my ATFs who I am in touch with to ask when is it generally slow and they pretty much said that avoid 9 am to 4 pm. It gradually gets slower after 4 and it is pretty much dead after 6 pm. Post 4 pm appointment and I haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes or experience any switch-a-roo.

A year or more ago you could def just drop in but in my brief AMP life it has changed from dropping an being a high success rate to now your likely getting turned away or waiting damn near an hour w / o an appt. Even with appt you could possibly get some delay. In today's AMP scene you should do yourself and other mongers a favor and schedule. Just shoot MMS a text. Tell her when your dropping by, who you want to see, then text when your about to come thru the door so your taken care of asap. Just my. 02.

Well, it seems that there is no easy solution to this issue. I am lucky to have a lot of free time so I can go during non busy times or text around a half hour or so prior to see what's up, so more of a last minute appointment of sorts, that fits me best anyway. What we need is more competition so that they aren't so busy. I think that will happen, it's just a supply and demand thing, but sometimes it takes awhile for the market to adapt. Still the area AMPs have made great strides from the days of the old ladies and / or limited menu.

Interesting opinion, while I was sitting there waiting serval mongers entered and the first thing they asked was did you have appointment and when they replied no they were sent packing.

I show up early, I always texted MMS if I'm running behind or if I need to reschedule. I understand the bird in the hand! But when you're a frequent flyer, I would expect the same respect back.
