A three-month investigation into the Leather & Lace strip club in Gastonia by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents led to uncovering drugs, alcohol and other violations, documents show.
A 21-page report filed with the North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control Commission earlier this year shows seven violations from September to November 2024.
The club was one of 84 public hearing cases that were ratified, meaning approved and confirmed as proposed settlement for alleged violations, during Wednesday's regular meeting of the state ABC commission. Penalties totaled over $100,800 or suspensions, according to the commission.
Undercover ALE agents were following up at Leather & Lace after a complaint about customers consuming alcoholic beverages and controlled substance sales in the club's parking lot.
The clubs are part of MAL Entertainment Inc. , owned by David "Slim" Baucom Jr. Baucom did not respond to a request for comment Friday.

Three ALE agents visited the 512 W. Main Ave. Club four times during the three-month operation, reports show.
The violations, according to the ABC commission, included:
"Openly smoking marijuana and using cocaine" and the sale of controlled substances including cocaine, marijuana and MDMA, known as "Molly," in the business parking lot to undercover agents. On two separate nights, Leather & Lace employees either offered to sell directly or coordinate the sale of drugs between patrons and the undercover agents.
Selling and consumption of alcohol after 2 am An employee and dancers also consumed alcoholic beverages while working.
A dancer also was observed fondling her breasts during a lap dance, a violation of the alcohol permit.

Penalties and charges.
To settle the violations, the club has until Jan. 2 to pay a $5,000 fine or face a liquor license suspension, according to the ABC commission. If the fine is paid, the 65-day suspension will be shortened to 15 days starting Jan. 9.
Three people were charged in the drug-related incidents.

10-10-25 12:16 #987Wow I didn't know that about UTR and I never share their info. I mention I see them off FB or whatever but always in my gut said do not share their info and now I know why. See you can always trust the gut. Me personally feel sorry for any teen who has to do this for money for whatever reason she needs the money for because coming back from that life is rare it only gets deeper. For her to be selling her self there are deeper issues which started at a much younger age. College kids find jobs at fastfoods and car washes like Autobell. For her to result to having sex with strangers on the streets says a lot about her pass home life and child abuse. And of course when people see her there are those who wants to take advantage of her being under age doesn't matter it just makes her more valueble. But I also feel that unless there is some proof in the texts that says he had sex with her and or ask her to work for him he shouldn't be charged with trafficking. He for sure had contact with her because he has her number and like several people on this forum has done told her hey get off the streets and post ads. I don't think that's a crime unless he said he wanted to be involved which is what the police is weaving into this. I have told street walkers the same thing granted they wasnt minors but never the less I gave my advise now is it crime of course not. In any event I hope she is off the streets and getting help with college if in fact she is going to college was that verified because people come up with stories when busted. If the black guy can't get good legal repesentation he just might get railroaded and a lot of it weighs on race this black guy trying to pimp a white minor. Doesn't matter if she was 18 the next day she was still a minor. Minors get away with a lot of stuff really. They do some crazy stuff and when caught oh I'm a kid WTF ever you carrying a gun and used it. Many under 18 are escorts strippers doing drugs you name it and its all good until the police get them then its I'm a kid and the the judges everyone is handcuffing the adults who were dumb enough to deal with them. Well shouldn't these kids be held accountable for their actions. Theropy forced to get back in school community service something other than just walk away and get another adult locked up. You'd also be really shocked to learn how little 'aid' you need to provide to meet the burden for trafficking in NC (actual trafficking). Posting an UTR on a forum like this meets the statute, although I think they're unlikely to give you the full life sentence. I'm not saying mongers shouldn't do it, but I would sure as hell never give identifying info to anyone or the provider if you do promote someone. Originally Posted by Gemini10

Seem more like he may have meet her on the streets and was tellign her she sould get a room and post ads. As he adimited to doing showing her how to do it better. I don't approve of minors but she was 17 and I'm sure it was some very happy mongers who picked her up. And I'm also happy she off the streets she lucky she wasnt kidnapped by traffickers. I hope she gets the help she needs its obvious her family can't afford to take care of her in college and she wants a education so bad she willing to do anything to get the money. Yes, the Vigilante Justice volunteer group. It wasn't just one guy although his Facebook page was his. Hope they aren't now working with LEO for the new law. I saw a very large black pickup with tinted windows and a Christian license plate in front of an AMP a few days ago. He just sat here and didn't go in and then left after a while. Hope that wasn't one of them maybe now working with LEO for the new law. Heads up guys.
