No, I have not tried to help a provider. Many gave and it seems like it always backfires. The white knight posts followed by a deluge of requests and ultimately it ruins the provider with with GPS or bad experiences. It typically ends badly.

Generally, no. The only exception I make is when I'm traveling to other cities and am seeing higher end providers with alot of reviews on TER where they mentioned deposits. And if you really want to see a particular provider, it's the only choice. I've done it many times now. This is the only exception I make.
