No, I have not tried to help a provider. Many gave and it seems like it always backfires. The white knight posts followed by a deluge of requests and ultimately it ruins the provider with with GPS or bad experiences. It typically ends badly.

Generally, no. The only exception I make is when I'm traveling to other cities and am seeing higher end providers with alot of reviews on TER where they mentioned deposits. I don't like doing it, but have never been burned. New York is a good example. You can certainly find good providers that don't require it, but it's become very common for it to be a requirement amongst quality providers. And if you really want to see a particular provider, it's the only choice. I've done it many times now. This is the only exception I make. If I see a local ad with a deposit required, I move on every time.

The one thing I will never make an exception on is providing real life information on me. I do not like the trend of requiring a picture of your license or a business card, or a LinkedIn profile. It's becoming much more common, but I will never do that under any circumstances. That's why I do P411.

This is a never-ending topic that Mongers don't seem to get. Members on here will post to warn us that "(ex Mandy) just ripped me off bcuz I was stupid enough to give her my hard earned cash upfront / via TrashApp bcuz she promised me the time of my life". Its like, Yeah dude, you deserved that, especially if you've been warned many times previously. Its like they're try drum up sympathy from other members for their poor decisions.
