You can get a used Android smartphone for $10, sometimes less. You can set it up with Google Voice for free and make a lot of phone calls and texts over wi-fi no problem.

The only people who don't have phone service in 2025 are mentally ill, stupid, or homeless. Or some combination of those three.

"I'm not a prostitute" always means they want money just to exist or maybe for 'companionship' which usually means being in the same public place while they look at their phone. Immediate and hard pass.
