Yeah the scams are never real, just threats to try and scare you. Likely the person is half way across the world actually.

You don't necessarily have to buy a burner. Just download apps like 2 ndline or TextNow. You are able to get a number set to any zip code and use it like any normal number from your current phone but it not be attached to you personally. You can also change the number at anytime. You can call, text, and it functions off of wi-fi or cell data. The only thing you can't really do is video chat but rarely needed. I have used them for years with no issue and no fear of scammers getting my real info or crazy ladies trying to come after me.

They tried to get me to empty my pockets, but I am not a small guy or afraid to fight. That being said, I got out of there only missing the donation and jumped in my car.
