I just want to add that some banks (including Chase I believe) have ATMs inside their branches that have a significantly higher withdrawal limit. The ones I've seen are physically mounted to the ground, unlike the typical bank ATMs you see outside that are flush-mounted in a wall. This can help you avoid talking to a teller.

ATM Limits
How to withdrawal more than 500 from an ATM. Some Banks already offer 1K or 2K limits, but mine doesn't. Method one is to simply have two or three bank accounts, especially if your bank's ATM is next to your other bank's ATM (this avoids ATM fees). Method two is to have a qualifying type of account, such as investment account. Various banks like Chase offer these accounts (it might just be a phone call / appointment to increase your limit). One option is online investment platforms like Schwab. It varies but the better account is maybe a $1K or $2K limit. Schwab lets you ATM withdrawal directly from your investment account. One nice thing about Schwab is all ATM fees are reimbursed / waived. Sometimes, an ATM itself won't give you more than 500 per transaction, but you can just do two transactions. Paired with the two account method, you can withdrawal 1500 easily in one trip. The daily ATM limit resets 24 hours later.

Of course, you can also go to your bank teller and ask for a lump sum. If it's 5K and up they might ask you what it's for, it's just to confirm you are not the victim of a romance scam. You can say you're going to Vegas, traveling abroad, for your business, etc..
