In a few of the dedicated area forums (e. G. Boston, Worcester) there is sometimes a "Non-Asian Massage Parlor Reports" forum you can check. But for the most part, AFAIK there really aren't any reports on here for them.

I just checked those out. Nothing at this time. I will check back now and then. Thanks for the info.

One of the things they closed shops down for. And gives faint credence to trafficking. Is women living in the shop. Since they are not zoned for residential / mixed use, that is a code violation. For the BTT stuff they were claiming that the fact that someone either paid for their airline ticket or drove them in a van across state lines, that's trafficking. Never mind the girls were doing it voluntarily.

It is a normal. Over charge and plea is. Down.

In the Massachusetts / Boston section there is a non Asian massage parlor thread you may find what your looking for there. That said I have not seen much promising in non Asian in a while.

I don't know how the shops advertised their services.

If they advertised as bodywork, they do not need a massage license.

Has nothing to do with licenses, that's just the legal way to shut down down now. The mayor has been all over the AM news the last week saying they are going on a crusade to shut down human trafficking.

I would love to see some residents track this promise, and in a year or so, publicly shame the mayor when (Surprise!) it turns out no trafficking charges were ever pursued.

But why do they need a legal way? If there is human trafficking going on, why would they shut a spa down for something else?

It depends on the town / city. They can make the rules more strict if they want. Some towns require massage licenses for bodywork as well. Some towns add some really asinine rules to help stop shops from opening.

Just like the other member stated, I'm not a lawyer. I have had enough interaction with them to know that what the city needs is evidence, and they don't have any. All they have is a neighborhood Karen who has to much time on her hands whining and complaining.

I'm not a lawyer, but how does a city go after the customers if the store is closed for code violations. It seems to me they are sending out mixed messages, which cannot be helping their legal case.

It seems to be a common MO for cities to shut down massage business for violations like this. I feel trafficking rarely gets tried. Because you almost never hear about such cases in the news. But it's a great justification for going after businesses which is really shutting down prostitution which makes the Karens happy and lets a mayor try to milk the PR from it. I feel like the licensing violation is the way to shut the entire operation down (not just targeting an individual) to keep it out of business temporarily or permanently.

Seeing a report online showing all massage parlors in Methuen are now permanently closed, I drove by 2 of them and read the letters from the City of Methuen posted on the front doors, dated September 30,2025, saying they were ordered closed because they do not have a license to operate a massage business required by state law. -- this despite the fact that most of them have been in operation in their current locations for many, many years.

Posted in the Boston forum but figured it belongs here as well. This was my go-to with great table shower, solid massage and L1.

Told by my masseuse today that new ownership as of Oct 1 has banned any extracurricular activities.

Table shower is now clothed (with those oversized shorts they give out) and have to dry yourself off.

Massage is still good for what it is but no release.
