Pictures are accurate if you take into consideration the usual face filtering. The most accurate picture of her face is the one where she's on the bed with her finger on her chin. If you're injured to the point where you won't enjoy your appointment, you might as well cancel. You might damage the relationship you have with the booker if you're not a regular but you should be able to make future appointments as long as canceling isn't a habit for you.

It's best to inform the booker in advance, rather than waiting until just before your appointment starts. As for the reason, just be honest. I've been in a similar situation, and the booker is very understanding.
