If LE were able to escalate a possible monger arrest from a misdemeanor to a felony charge, could it influence their effort into actually going through and booking said person?

My 2 cents:

I would think so. Felonies are a big deal and can strip you of your right to vote in some areas.

However, I don't believe LE can just choose to book you for a felony. It's usually spelled out in the statute. They would have to have probable cause for a higher charge like trafficing. That being said, don't answer police questions, but be very polite to them. They are just doing their job. They really don't give a fuck. People who are rude and piss them off get them emotionally invested to fuck with them.
