I just tried a Vanilla card and it didn't work. You said you didn't need to register it, so when you had to enter your name / address info on Seekings site did you use your real address / zip ect?

Buying this Vanilla card has been nothing but a headache. For whatever reason Vanilla no longer gives you the option to register your giftcard under an address so you can make online purchases, like the Blackhawk cards do. So not only did it ger rejected when trying to use it on Seeking, I tried to use it to order food on the Chipotle app. Declined, I tried to pay my Verizon Fios bill with it. Declined, my Wash Gas bill. Declined. All these transactions asked for a billing zip code but idk what Zip to use. Both my home zip as well as the zip from where I bought the card are the same but when I entered that it doesn't work. The Vanilla site shows the card is active and there's plenty of balance to cover any of those transactions but it wouldn't go through. I think this thing is worthless other than at the gas station or maybe at the grocery store. I'll never buy another Vanilla gift card in my life for myself or someone else.

Yes, I used to have as my Public photo a selfie of me but I had an emoji over my face so you couldn't recognize who I was. I received an email from the Admin stating that was no longer acceptable and I had to post a pic that showed my face. If I didn't my account would be suspended until I made the requested change.

You buy an egift card on vanillagift.com. You pay online with your regular credit card and they will send you the egift card to your email with you prepaid cc card number, exp date, and security code. You can then use the prepaid cc number to pay on SA. I had an old account, did not have to send a selfie and it went right through. This was about 3 weeks ago so things may have changed since then. I used a fictitious name and address.

I tried the Blackhawk card before I used the egift card and it was turned down. I asked SA customer service if they could give specific prepaid cards that would work. They didn't answer my question but they did look at my attempt to use the Blackhawk card and said that it was turned down at the bank level, not by SA. Apparently some banks see SA as a questionable charge.

I tried vanilla many moons ago, didn't work. The other popular card (forget the name) worked for a while, and then it didn't.

I had been using Apple Pay (till my recent deletion / selfie fiasco).

Easier to explain a credit card hack, as opposed to a "selfie".

Might need to hire a Hollywood makeup artist for a day, or just quit.

When I signed back up after a while I had to do the selfie verification too but that's not something that's public for users to see, you can still hide all your pics on your profile and share as wanted privately.

Yes your selfie now has to be public. For years my profile pic that hid my face was my public pic and my actual pic that showed my face was private. I was told that was no longer allowed so I had to verify my selfie and it's now a public pic. Sucks but not much of a choice.

To answer your second question yes you can hide your profile. I've had a hidden profile for years because if it's not hidden I get flooded with spam messages. Once I verified and made my selfie public nothing changed in regards to my profile staying hidden.

So, on SA hammered, as usual. Website glitched, worse than usual. When I clicked homepage, I saw dudes, and only dudes. I freaked, as thinking hack, and tried to deactivate, which I have done before, and no response (glitch 2, as you normally get a response). So, I assumed hack (aka Ashley, which I was part of). I clicked delete, again no response (again no response).

TLDR: account deleted.

Tried logging on, and presented with selfie verification.

Questions:

1) If selfie verified, does your profile picture (which is verified) need to be public?

2) can you hide your profile if 1 above.

As most are senior, you have not encountered this, but any juniors know the answer?
