But I think it's perception more than reality for the US.

Example a, girl recently got deported from Canada and now fears coming to the US next week.

Example b, girl got detained in Singapore, now is making her plans much more robust to show US authorities she is actually here for trip.

But no one I know has been stopped in the US. But the perception is shared among most of them that their next trip may not be successful entry.
