Something that might work, try adding the email address you used to verify the google voice number to Whatsapp. That might help with 2 FA.

I have a whole different identity with my google voice # (email, facebook). All this stuff lives in a separate, secure folder on my phone. Since WhatsApp is meta, maybe it likes that there's a facebook associated with that #?

The only other workaround I can think of is to try a different google voice number. Supposedly now (or at least the past 10 months) whatsapp stopped accepting VOIP numbers but numbers that had previously been from other carriers and abandoned it will accept. Maybe it's just luck of the draw that I got one that could be verified and you just need to try a few more.

If you travel next time you go overseas just get a cheap sim card. Use the ding app to keep it topped monthly to avoid losing the number and then it's an official number. Meta have become real dks about everything needing to be official. I used to love the modded whatsapp apps but they did everything to take that away.

If you like FOB Latinas (like me) many will still be using WhatsApp because it's popular in Latin America and runs on wifi (not data). A lot of times they use it to talk to family back home and communicate here. So if a Latina (particularly a South American one like a Columbian or Venezuelan) wants to communicate on WhatsApp there's a good chance it's legit as long as no other red flags are present. My google voice # works with WhatsApp just fine and I can always ditch it.

That being said, I don't think there's ever a good reason for a hot white girl or hot black girl to insist on WhatsApp or Telegram. Telegram in particular seems to be scam central, I have it but pretty much don't use it.

With the amount of fraud surrounding gift cards these days, I'm not surprised. Using one gift card to buy another isn't even allowed at Kroger any more (ie, Vanilla Visa to pay for a Sephora or even another Visa GC if you were trying to combine balances). I can tell you that 10 times out of 10, just buying the Google Play card in cash redeems immediately with no issue applying to Google Play account and subsequently into a Seeking subscription. That's not it. I tried purchasing one with a regular credit card as well as getting one from giftcards.com and same result. Google won't process any virtual cards. Luckily Amazon gave me a refund. I'll try a physical card next.

I tried using my gift cards to buy virtual Google Play gift cards on Amazon and load those into my account and Google won't accept them. It says they need more info and my only option is to open a case with Google. I searched for this problem online and found others saying the same issue redeeming from Amazon virtual cards. At least with the pre-paid Visa cards, I didn't lose my money, but with the virtual Google Play cards I'm just fucked.
